Re: Booger, Peanut Butter(Pooper) & Jon's Good Times Trip
The belly flop contest has been well documented thanks to my mother from another Mrs Patty. Speaking of Patty, we had one of those weird moments when we found out that I grew up 5 minutes from her. What a small world indeed! Patty has an amazing energy and is a blast to hang out with. Mr Kopper is a gentle soul and they compliment each other quite well. It was a pleasure to meet and be able to spend time with the both of you.
So back to the flop contest. Brasi and friends put some effort into making sure this thing went off right. And the floppers put on an amazing show. Musicdoc gets the style points in my book. If you were there you know what I mean. His form is of the classic nature, the painful classic nature. Not to take anything away from Ninja, but Musicdoc kept it simple and pure and threw down some amazing flops. Now keep in mind that we had rules, well really only one rule. And it was that you had to do an actual belly flop of some sort. No cannonballs, no pollock dives(damn as that was my secret weapon), no back flops, etc. When I wasn't flopping I was chilling at the swim up bar which offered a great vantage point. I was nearly eye level when the floppers hit the water and it was pure comedy. I laughed my ass off the entire time and had a great day with all of the boardies who showed up. Too bad it wasn't broadcast for your viewing pleasure.
Afterwards we took a ride to Travelers to make our donations that were raised and to paint some bricks. The experience was humbling for me and offered up a teary moment. Sandie crayoned me up a brick for my Dad, who I lost a couple of years ago, without me knowing and showed it to me which caught me a little off guard. Alright, time to head to the bar to get my happy back on. As I'm walking up I hear "man I knew you would find the bar." Grabbed a few beers and headed back to join the crowd.

People have asked me how the hell I came up with Booger.........

Boogs/Booger is my daughters nickname, so we had to paint up a brick for her too. While Sandie was painting her brick up I took a chance to look around and see all the other names painted on the bricks. I recognized all sorts of familiar names and wondered how long those bricks had been there. My guess is it has been awhile, so people get down there and buy some bricks. It's a buck and the more bricks painted the more places can be built.
After that we headed back to the West End and this was the actual night we had the previously mentioned dinner at Catcha. Thanks Tizzy for keeping me straight.
Dinner was killer and we were primed to hit some bars up on the Best End. We set off headed left out the gates of Catcha and hit a bar with a pool table just down the street, which I believe is called 40/40. Tizzy? Anyways they wanted to play for $5 a game and I whipped the snot out of the first guy I played. I told him he should play Sandie to get his money back and she nearly skunked the guy. He was a little embarrassed getting beat by a girl and Sandie recommended that his buddy play her. I do not recall how that one ended. Tizzy? But next thing you know we are ready to move on and hit another bar. As I was leaving I get hit up by one of the guys to pay up the $5 I owed him. WTF? Dude I'm not that hammered and you better back it up as your buddy actually owes me. He decided real quick that I'm not that guy and off we were. C&D bar here we come.
Oh wait, I already wrote about that experience too. LOL. After leaving C&D we decided we were not done and headed to Spyda's. Spyda's is a cool little bar with a funny little bar tender, that is once you get to talking to her a little. She seems really reserved but has a great little personality. Sypda himself is a cool guy and looked out for us on a couple of nights as well as getting Jon and Tizzy off the road one late night. Tizzy chime in on that one as it was funny.
Alright, I'm officially done and it's time to go to bed. We might of hit the jacuzzi that night or was it the previous night? Regardless, the jacuzzi is the right temp and a great place to chill after a long night. I do remember one night the waves were so gnarly that we couldn't even get in the jacuzzi. The seas were angry and took away many hours of cliff jumping. No worries as now I have found yet another reason to go back.

A random angry sea pic. An no I didn't ask mother nature for permission to post this pic.....
Chicken bus trip to YS and Pelican soon come......
