The chicken bus ride was one of the great highlights of the trip. We had a bus full of awesome people whom we would have the great pleasure of spending an ENTIRE day with. Pickup was around 8 am at Catcha for those who were staying there and than it was off down the West End to pick up a couple more folks at Mi Yard and than down to the beach for even more folks. A few folks dropped out for various reasons but Jim I have to call you out. Brasi was hurting something fierce and made the trek, so you not hopping on because you were hurting is weak sauce. So once we picked everyone up it was off to the ATM to load up on some cash and than we made the most important stop of the trip.
That's right, we needed to stock up on beers, and a lot of beer it was. No ice at that stop so we headed to the gas station and grabbed a few bags. FINALLY we set off headed for our adventure for the day.
A lot of us were pretty hung over, so the first half hour or so was pretty subdued. Then low and behold someone got the party started as suddenly the hangovers dissolved for most. The ride there was filled with joy and laughter and eww's and aww's taking in the sights. I remember coming around the bend and seeing Bluefield in all it's glory. You want to see some beautiful water, just take the short trip down to Bluefield. The place is absolutely gorgeous and I look forward to exploring the area some more on a future reach.
We hit YS Falls quicker than I had expected and I couldn't wait to get on the jitney and make it over to the landing area. The rope swing was calling my name and I had to get up there NOW. The place was packed in relation to our last trip as on our last trip there was maybe 10 people there. As I was walking the stairs I was worried the line to the rope swing would be like standing in line for Space Mountain on a hot summer day. But no worries as a lot of folks are chicken and there was virtually no line. Jon spared no expense and went to flipping, flopping and being a kid all over. Just do yourself a favor and remember to bring your water shoes as the rocks there are murder on your bare feet.
I'm not sure how many buses were there but I do know one was a short bus.
Thanks to whomever brought these kids as they were great fun to hang out with.....
After an hour or so everyone seemed to have their fill and it was time to head to Pelican bar with a slight detour just down the street near the turn off to YS for some lunch. It's a rustic set up and the food was amazing. Marley knows the name of the place so please chime in so others can check it out.
Sandie decided at one point that she needed to lie down and get her second wind back. It was non stop party on that bus and I'm surprised we all returned unscathed, well except for a little sea urchin episode that will soon come.....
