    First Timers

Hello! My husband and I will be making our first trip to Negril this Tuesday. We are staying Tuesday through Sunday at the Riu Negril. We are so excited to experience the island and the trip has been something we have been looking to do since we met. We want to experience everything possible that the island has to offer. What would you suggest newbees to do or see or go with the alotted time we have? We are up to do pretty much anything from excursions and trips to bars and restaurants. We just need a little help to prepare an agenda prior to landing. Thanks for all your help

Welcome to the board, and I hope you have an awesome time in Negril! As said, Seastar on Saturday night for live music and buffet. They will also pick you up for free. Try the Wildthing sunset booze cruise over to Ricks Cafe to watch the sunset and take in the sights- Ricks has music, food, watch the cliff divers or be bold and take a jump! Also try a day trip over to YSFalls(you can zip line, and river tube) or Mayfield Falls (google them for more info).. Thursday is Ladies night at the Jungle night club, Live music on the beach at Alfreds, and bourban beach. I'm sure the other boardies will chime in..

Take a trip out to Mayfield Falls it is a half day excursion. YS Falls would be mind blowing but it is an all day 8am-5pm excursion as it is a couple hours away. See the folks in your lobby at Tourwise or Jamica Tours LLC for fun trips to both these. At RIU be sure to take the sunset cruise it is I believe 30 a person, you book on your beach at the Scuba Caribe shack, it goes to Rick's cafe and you go snorkeling and cave swimming. Take a taxi outfront your hotel to Xtabi to tour their caves and jump the cliffs if you wish, nice sunset meal out on the cliffs waterside by candle light. You can carefully walk in daylight on the cliff road if you haven't been there before walking a bit up by Xtabi and back and stopping in all along the way at different bars and restuarants is fun, lots different then beach. Visit Alfreds for live music and don't miss Sea Star on Saturday night, they will come pick you up for free and it is $17-18 (?) a person for a great buffet dinner and live reggae band and steel drum show.

Rambo has a good idea with Sea Star. You will get to meet Rob and Lisa and other boardies there. Here is their number for their free shuttle (both ways) - 957-0553.
