Home Sweet HOme Resort ATI/Dream/Independence Week

Hello everyone. I was wondering what people could tell me about this place. Looks like this is where I'll be staying. How safe is it? Are in room safes available? The doors in the pics don't look the most secure. Just a little concerned. Also with being not directly on the beach, how's the ease of getting back an forth to the ati dream weekend events? I heard there are shuttles. Any opinions would be appreciated

Here's a trip report from one of our wonderful boardies whom will more than likely be here soon to help you with your Home Sweet Home questions...along with others....

ATI is one of the busiest times in Negril...but having said that...each year it seems to be easier to get around. Parking lots, more shuttles, cars not being allowed to block the roads etc seems to quell this craziness a tad. Just expect it to be busy either way...go have a fabulous time!!

My wife and I just spent a week at HSH in April. Yes, all rooms do have a safe. There is a $25 refundable deposit for the key.

As Sweetie Pie mentioned, the grounds, location and the staff is amazing! The lower-level rooms do have glass french doors that open onto the veranda, but they seemed pretty secure, with deadbolts. We always felt safe on the HSH grounds. There is a 24 hour security guard, even though he may be out of sight (he might be keeping watch from a room near the front gate). The first couple nights I wondered if there even was a security guard until he appeared out of nowhere late one night.

Some rooms can use a cosmetic upgrade, but they are very clean and comfortable. Chris is available most days for trips to the beach and back. If not, it's a cheap and fast taxi ride.

You will enjoy your stay. Home Sweet Home is an amazing place to stay on the cliffs.

I stayed there in March. It wasn't my first choice but it was my best choice! Charlie the Owner is a cool Dude. I emailed him a few times before I booked. He promptly answered all my emails. Check in with Marcie was a breeze. All of the staff were friendly. The pool and jacuzzi are nice. Walking down there stairs to the Ocean priceless! The Bar and the Resturant are Top Notch. Any more ? feel free to message me. I have pix of the property too

Big fan of Home Sweet Home. It's small and cozy, great location, owner and staff. Chris is a great driver and guy. If you like to walk the location is excellent. Snorkeling is very good for the cliffs. The cliff setup is one of the best in Negril. We never used the safe while there without problem. having said that, use the safe Left our verandah doors open the whole week. I value security and it was good there without feeling like you were behind a gate. They do have a gate

Also wanted to mention that the housekeeping staff is AWESOME! They managed to get our room clean everyday, no matter what time we woke up (and some days we were late risers). Can't say that about most hotels. Angie even did a couple loads of laundry for us at a fair price. There's nothing quite like a fresh shirt that was clothesline-dried in Jamaica.

Talking to some of the folks at Home Sweet Home, I heard that they were planning some special events for ATI week (parties, dancing, etc.). Sounds like a blast!

I stayed there in feb and it was real nice. The staff is awsome and it is very safe. It will cost you maybe 4 dollars to get to the beach. I would stay there again.
