I've been in your shoes before....you do all the work planning for a fun trip with your friends, only to have them back out when it was time to write the check. After having gone through that, my wife and I said to each other "never again".

Now what we do is plan a trip for just the two of us and let our friends know where we are going and when and that if they would like to join us they are more than welcome, if not, we'll send them a postcard from paradise.
