    Some wonderful food

Just back from 16 days in Negril and headed back soon, and one of the things I am looking forward to is finishing the menu at Sing U. Yes, I said FINISHING, because I gave it a very good stab on this past reach. I literally stumbled up on the place by having to go to Digicel and pay homage to the cellular Gods that be in Jamaica. I was holding my breath that business phone number 2 chip was still active. Mind you now, I had topped both of them up on the same day and the same hour last time, but in typical Jamaican style, one operated upon landing at Sangster, and the other needed at least another 100 J phone card when pon the rock to start kicking.

As I left Digicel I went left and ended up under a blue awning with about two white plastic tables and chairs set out. Behind it is a serving counter and beyond that I could smell food and hear the sizzling of things cooking. I was parched so I asked the petite Asian lady lounging in one of the chairs if they had water. She proceeded to get it for me and all I wanted to do was sit out of the sun for a while and hydrate.

From the second I sat down I thought "This has got to be the coolest place ever to just sit and watch the runnings in downtown Negril". Say where am I anyway? I never saw this place before?" That is when I really started to check out my surroundings and ask some questions. The owner, Ms. Sing, and I started to talk. She has been open about 6 months (see I knew I never saw this one before), and the food is Asian/Jamaican fusion. "Ok what is the best thing on the menu?"
"All of my food is good, but my favorite is the Thai Green Curry Chicken." "Ok I will have that please."

Hey Misti - so glad to see you at the Bash and thanks for putting our gyal Seveen on the line to talk live on the webcast - that was TOO COOL. You look great - the sea air agrees with you.

As a serious foodie I am thrilled to learn about a new place. That curry looks fresh and healthy.

Hi Misti! I read the Jamacain/Asian fusion thing and was wondering "hmmm, how's that work?" Then I read Thai Green Curry Chicken and I literally jumped. That sounds like a foodies fusion dream dish. Hope she does well and is still around next year, I have to try that. Keep posting please, I love you're style.

Size: 93.4 KBI found world wide that really good and interesting food makes my taste buds go off in little explosions. This seems to happen to me in Jamaica more so than other places in the world though. This day is exceptionally "explosive." The most amazing thing I can say is FRESH, everything tasted so FRESH. The added bonus was my chance to kick back, cross my well tanned legs, and CHILL. If you do not see the most intersting things from this vantage point, then there is something wrong with YOU. LOL All of Negril goes by and as you eat some world class food, you can just sit there and soak it all up.

From this day forward I found every conceiveable excuse to be in downtown Negril at lunch time. Ms. Sing and I struck up a mild friendship and I enjoyed sitting and talking with her about life, love, MEN, Jamaica, things girls talk about. We started a new game she and I, I come to eat you pick the food. So a little at a time, I worked my way through most of her menu. Name: IMG_6742.jpg

In the meantime, you just sit back, chill, and watch Negril.
