2 sleeps! Heading to Seastar Saturday for the show. I normally don't get to excited until the day I leave for a trip, but reading the boards has me amp'd up.

I posted and posted in this thread hoping that my mantra of "Once you post in a roll call it means you must go" would work on me
But sadly, the wires must have gotten crossed along the way as it was not MY time this go around.
Next week will mark the first time in a few years that I haven't been HOME for my birthday (and now also my anniversary) and I am finding it difficult to face. (Especially while I am watching so many of my friends going back already)
So for those lucky October Roll Call peeps (including any and all last minute hoppers) please take me with you, even if only in spirit!
I am living vicariously through all of you, so do it up big and have a drink (or a few) for me!
Have a blast October peeps!
(P.S. If I win the lottery this weekend all of this post is null and void because I will hop my butt on a plane faster than you can say Soon Come)
Hi Marley,
I will make sure to write a trip report in your honor. I have lived vicariously through you and a few others for the last two years not being able to return to my Home away from Home and I truly plan to return the favor with pictures.
Here is a question....I do not travel with a laptop. I will be staying at Coco La Palm and Sea Star October 23-27. I know Sea Star has a computer. Does Jamaica have an Internet Cafe (so to speak)!
Your time to return to Jamaica will come sooner than you think.
Keep smiling,
Tranquilitygurl
Marley - I am still crossing my fingers for you! Lets go lotto!
Tranquilitygurl - That is soooooooooooo sweet of you.
I am so excited for you, you picked some great places to stay.
And yes, there are a couple of internet cafes, there is even one on the beach, not too far from Coco La Palm if I am not mistaken.
I never used to take a laptop either, but now Raul brings one each trip which I use from time to time. However, if you have a smartphone with wifi you can use that very easily, that is what I typically do. In the past I had a Blackberry and the last trip it was a droid. I just put it in airplane mode and turn everything off except the wifi. There are plenty of places that have free wifi, Ivans, 3 dives, Xtabi, Seastar, Canoe...plenty of places. I would connect on my phone and check email, facebook and of course negril.com
I can't wait to read your report!
Wpyogi- I am excited for you guys too! And I am still crossing my fingers too![]()

does anyone know how to get in touch with mrglenzee? i am arriving in mobay the same day and was looking to share a ride to seastar.
Hey Marley, so I can just turn off the mobile network and bluetooth, put it in airplane mode and turn on Wi-Fi and that's all there is to it? Is there anything else I need to do to avoid roaming-related charges?
