Time frame for booking flights???
I'm working on planning my best friends wedding in March. This will be my 9th trip and her 5th to the rock. I am looking for any suggestions on booking flights. How far out do the airlines release flight dates? 120 Days?
Normally I wait it out to see what all unfolds but since we will be traveling with a large group I don't want to lead them in the wrong direction. I think there will about 20 of us or so....
Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Re: Time frame for booking flights???
I usually wait it out also, 6 weeks before departure is the earliest I've booked in years. Travelling with such a large group, and for a wedding, the anxiety of waiting would drive me crazy!!
You should try contacting airlines about a group/wedding discount!

330 days in advance for most airlines. never to early to start looking. march is on the board.

I concur with katho - it IS a good idea to contact airlines about getting a group discount - i believe each airline has some breakpoint at which they will discount flights... for some it's 20, others maybe 25.... you might try checking around with a couple different airlines, cause it is a real possibility that you could get a deal for booking a large group.

We're in the same boat, BBrasta. I actually just got a "group" quote and it was $928 US out of Detroit. Um...I'm waiting. LOL Our daughter is getting married in Negril in April and there are prices out there now for most airlines.

Re: Time frame for booking flights???
It is far cheaper to book our airfare separately from the group. One would think that if they could confirm 25 seats on a plane almost a year out the price wouldn't be double.....however, it is. I'm going to wait until the end of summer to book our airfare (hopefully!)
