    Hidden Paradise or Travellers?

I've gone ahead and ruled out Villa LaCage, decided to make this stay this year the entire time on or near the beach, so it's now between Travellers and Hidden Paradise, and the price for both is comparable, so which should I choose for my two week August stay after the week at Grand Pineapple?

Not much to suggest here - cliffs girl thru and thru but BarBBarn, Treehouse, Seasplach, Country Country, Coco la Palm come highly recommended. Travellers has amazing location and food but have not been in the rooms - don't know about Hidden Paradise but hopefully others will jump in and maybe have some photos to share with you. Enjoy your reach !!!! So cool that you will be at GP for a week (SWWWEEEETTTT)

Based on reports from others I trust, I would not do Travelers .... Rasta Gal will pump up Hidden Paradise all the way .....

You know it GerryG! The vibe at HP is better in my opinion. I've stayed at both and wouldn't do Traveler's again...as far as rooms go the 2 would be comparable, nothing fancy but it has what you need. So you know where my vote would go!

Hidden Paradise isn't directly on da beach and Travelers is...........
if someone wants to be on da beach and close to town for supplies etc......Travelers is tuff to beat......
I like hanging at Travelers and I appreciate what they do for the local community and school system........
Hidden Paradise really does have a great vibe der but not being on da beach is a big drawback for this guy.........

Travellers too close to the river-sometimes the polution and stench make it to the property

yah, that is one of the reasons for me really thinking twice on travellers is the river problems...but then again, they do have an "office conference area" that I believe includes computers, and since I don't have a laptop, if they offer free use of their computers, that would be something to take into consideration..

The price for each is about the same, but that is before figuring in tax and stuff, so HP might actually be more..but it is in a quieter area...

Traveller's has my vote. I've stayed there almost every season, and that river water goes down the beach past YellowBird anyway. If the beach gets too funky, swim in the pool. Food is good, free wi-fi (sometimes I can get it at my room, rest of the time you can go to the lobby). I prefer the low-end beach cabins anyway.

Hi Diane. Haven't seen or heard from you in donkey years!

I second Traveller's as well. Good Karma just exudes from all the great tings Wellington does for the community.

Well, everyone has an "opinion" on what a place is like and most times it is a snap opinion from one instance. I have been on the Traveller's property many times and have not experienced a stench problem but (of course) that is just my "opinion" too. lol!

    Re: Hidden Paradise or Travellers?

i too loved Travellers, the owners and staff are truly wonderful, food was excellent, grounds are GORGEOUS, the pool is magnificent, and rooms are great - BUT.... the 'iffyness' about the riverwater thing makes it a dealbreaker for me going forward. my main interest is the beach and swimming in the ocean - having to resort to the pool on days when the beach is yucky isn't acceptable for me. Of course one can go upbeach and find the pretty water, but if I'm springing the $$ for a hotel right "on" the sand, (which i'm rarely able to do) it's important for me to be able to walk out to the beach "right there" - that's pretty much why i choose a particular hotel in the first place. if i can't get in the ocean, every day, at any given moment, right at my own hotel, it's not a place I want to be.

For someone who isn't a rabid beach bum like myself, who doesn't mind the occasional murk in the ocean driving them to stay in the pool, it could be an excellent choice based on the property alone, which is indeed pretty fabulous.
