Freaking out a bit here...PASSPORT 6 MONTH 'window' question!

I recently heard that there might be a requirement for a 6 month travel 'window' prior to a passport expiring and I wonder if I could be in trouble here.
I did a bit of research and it seems that my daughter's passport is ok for travel TO Jamaica and FROM the USA (and back again) but someone mentioned that there is often a window of 6 months PRIOR to a passport expiring that some countries won't allow persons to travel!
My MINOR daughter's passport expires in September of this year and we are going to Negril NEXT WEEK!
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

I looked at another site and someone stated that the rule does NOT apply to travel from US to JA or back.
I will still be calling 877-487-2778 on Monday to verify, but it seems that Jamaica does not require a travel 'window'-but other countries DO, so please be aware as some countries have 3 month or 6 month expiry windows!

generally speaking you want to make sure you have at least 6 months or more left after the expire date when you'll be departing from a foreign country.........
then you are safe all da way around........all countries are different.......check with that particular country to be sure
there aren't any countries that require more than 6 months left from the expire date......

I went a couple of years ago with only a few months left on my passport (was there in Nov and it expired in Jan) and had no trouble getting into Jamaica. All they care about is if you have a return ticket and the valid passport for that date. If I only had a few days left at that time it may be an issue but with a few months left No Problem Mon.

HA...a couple of years back I had a return ticket for the day before my passport expired. Air Canada was actually the one that questioned whether I could get into Jamaica without incident but they quickly checked & I was good to go! Came back & it took me forever to renew it (stupid paperwork)...but that's another story.
There weren't any problems from Canada or Jamaica's side...not sure if it's the same for the US...would definitely confirm this...

    I'm a very happy mommy.
Called the US gov today and was assured that travel from US to JA and back is just fine with a valid passport as long as it is not expired. There is NO 'window' of 3 months or 6 months.
It's good until the day it expires.
    Soon come-ALL 4 of us!
    Jah is good.
