Dear Negril.com boardies/April people:
I had such a great time in Negril in April that I can’t explain it at all to non-reachers, it’s much better to just smile and look in someone’s eyes that KNOWS. All of the laughs, beers, parties, and meet-and-greets, hugs, flops, and sub sandwiches meant a ton to me. I hope I held my own and made some people laugh.
We all have something in common here, and that will never change. You guys are in my heart. FRIENDS.
I haven’t been posting but rest assured I feel very lucky to know many of you. I have read some of the kind words written about me and frankly I don’t feel worthy. But I am very happy to have the knowledge that the people I look up to really care about me---the “stocky New Yorker.” Stocky being...um...sorta like calling the ocean "moist." LOL
I want to say a special thanks to Shauna, my sista from another mother. The whole April experience was shaped by you for so many of us and you made the Flop work on the “day of.” And to the champ…Ninja (Fortune Favours the Brave!), TizzATX, Booger (the man who has the party stamina of a wild beast…and I wish you were my neighbor), Sandie, MuzicDoc, Jon, Sweetness, Joe T, Beccajean, Dawn the hot Candiaiaiiaiaian, DrummerBoy, The Mighty Californian (Fear and Loathing in Negril!), Katho, Guiri, Tattoo, the couple I wish I spent more time with, Daisy & Hubbyman, Sweetie Pie, Andy, and the nicest person on Earth, the amazing Patty Sather for all she did for the Flop (sashes, anyone?) and she has done for me as a person since I met her, and the rockstar of the board…Bea, and of course both Spottycatz…IndyBob and RastaStan...and Chris @ Seastar.
If I forgot anyone…sorry…love you all a LOT…well, except Chris but I like him a whole bunch. LOL.
I owe you ALL for warming my heart and looking after me a bit when I needed it on that freakin’ bus. I look forward to hugging you all on our next reach to Jamaica...for those I have only met briefly or online...soon come!
Bless!
Alex
P.S. When life hands you lemons...throw them in the nearest ocean.
