Trying to come up with some short day trips in and around Negril where a lot of the tourist don't know about. We're staying on the cliffs for the first time this year and really want to do some exploring.
You guys have any suggestions on that?

Two of the more little-known places on my bucket list are Percy's Riverside Retreat and Abeokuta Paradise Nature Park.
I've been reading about Percy's for a couple years now on the boards. Here's a recent trip report from a boardie that went there with a bunch of photos:

If you do a board search, you could probably find boardies who have been there. If you're on facebook, they have a bunch of pics on their FB page:

Yes, yes, yes on Percy's. Great family, excellent chill spot. Go, you'll enjoy. Percy frequently works out of Seastar. I have his number as well if that will help.
What's so funny 'bout Peace, Love and Understanding?
Percy and family are great peeps. I highly recommend a few hours tied in with a side trip to hang with Andrew at Half Moon. Just give him a call ahead and let him know what you want to eat. Fried chicken was killer and Pooper had some great fish. His wife is a great cook and his family is great to hang out with. I cannot recommend this one enough.....
rhodes hall makes for a good day![]()
Short trip that would be excellent for you to "drop out" for a day would be Zimbali Retreat. You can do a day trip up there, and they will give you a tour and feed you incredible food, all grown onsite. I did this my last reach, and it was a life changing experience. Mark and his wife Alicia are great hosts and will bend over backwards to make you feel welcome. It is a working sugar plantation and they also grow all their own food. It is a great place to just be quiet, and alone with your thoughts and mother nature. Peace!!
Rhodes Hall looks awesome! Do you just call ahead....maybe grab some drink and food? Do you know how much the horseback riding is?

$70USD per person, children under 12 years are half price. Two rides daily, 9:30am & 1:30pm except Saturdays.
The above recommendations are perfection!! For another nice day, just get with your favorite driver..and tell him you just want to go into the hills. It is truly amazing how beautiful it is and full of adventure. Just let the day flow....stop where ever you want, hang out and enjoy. This was one of my favorite trips, just be sure and negotiate your price before you head out. There are so many great drivers..we love Kingsley but there are many others that are great too! Here is his website...http://kingsleystakecaretours.com/
Have a wonderful time!!! BTW, you're going to love the cliffs!! It took several years before it happened, but now...I am a true cliff dweller. I still love day trips to the beach but the cliffs are truly my home in Negril. Once you get to know everyone along the west end...you will not be forgotten. You will be part of the family. Can't wait to hear all about your adventures!
Rocklands Bird Sanctuary. One of the better afternoons we've had in the hills. Feeding hummingbirds by hand and lots of other types of birds as well. It's such a relaxing spot. Google it, loads of stuff on YouTube as well.
Rise early, treat everyday as though it's your last and your last day as it's your first.
