Feedback much appreciated regarding making the most of my 3 weeks ~

Guess I better use another header if I'm hoping for some feedback.... so here we go - many thanks in advance!!

    Re: November 2012 Roll Call
So freaking excited!! Nov 7-28 are my dates... pretty sure I want to see the rest of the island but!! Negril is so amazing, I know I could easily pass away the days or is that daze(?!) very easily right there on the west side. West is Best, after all, right?!?!? Missing NYE is a bit of bummer since it was the most amazing night of my life last year but... such is life - 3 weeks in Paradise - no complaining going on over here!! Thanks so much y'all for keeping the Island Alive for me via this site as even though I haven't shared much (nothing really besides my little "spurt" on TicToc's fabulous adventure pon di rock) I often pass enjoyable multiple hours at a time, reliving, imagining, fulljoying all the love, wonder and excitement that is this beautiful Jem of the Caribbean. Ahhhh - JAMAICA - soon come!~! Me so missing da vibe... Can't wait!! Have a great day Peeps!! oops I mean Boardies!! ) heehee, C. **ps** having had a peek/ride from Mo'Bay to Negril via public transit - do ya think it'll be much of the same and not too terribly confusing for this gal to make it 'round di rock? Providing I keep my wits and s..t about me and ask lotsa questions??

    Hi LuckyChris!
Have an amazing time in Negril in November!
3 weeks sounds like a dream come true!
My best advice is to just go with the flow and enjoy every single moment in paradise!
Have you been to Mayfield falls or YS falls? I would recommend either of those if you're looking to take a day excursion from the west end

Thanks so much Clarity!! Why, yes - I went to YS (heehee) Falls in December on my first reach - it was so beautiful!! Going back would be No Problem for me!! As for Mayfield, thanks for reminding me to keep it on my radar and you're right - as you usually are (as far as I'm concerned while reading so many of your previous posts ) - Go with the Flow!!
    Ahhh
Leaving my comfort zone and going on an adventure like this is so EXCITING!! Sometimes I start to get ahead of myself....
I did indeed check out the song "Comfort Zone" that TicToc was reminded of and by golly - it's a Good'in!!
I guess I didn't really expect (which is a good thing no matter what the situation is - I must always remind myself of this!!) to get much in the way of feedback regarding the rest of the island as this is most def a Negril Lovers "thang" but here you are, wishing me well and for that - I would like to extend my sincerest thank you and look forward to happening across any one of you while lapping up the surf of the 7 mile.
    *deep sigh*
So close and yet so far -
    SOON COME!! C

Hey Chris! 3 weeks? Lucky is right! Are you thinking about JUTA or route taxi's around the island? That would be very adventurous for a single lady. I've known people who've done it with a hired driver. Typically that's a 3-4 day trip with a driver running on your schedule and a lot of car time. Don't know anybody who's done it on the public transport. Don't know how long it would take on public rides. Do A LOT of research if you're serious about it. Have plans, alternate plans and emergency plans. Good luck!

Hey Luckychris nice to see you around again and I see you have re-booked how wonderful. What is it you want to know?If you can use routetaxis around the west end?Of course you can , the ones with the red plates , they drop you near the roundabout some let you pay extra to drop you further up by the beach or you can swap and hop in a new ride.
If you are on the west end remember The seastar Inn has the saturday night shows and they will pick you up if you call them and thursday night is good at a small bar called canoe and the webcast is on and you will get to hang with other boardies, this is where I like to go for my 241 rum punches and listen to a steel drum band before I decide who I will drag off to the Jungle nightclub.Did you get to go to the Jungle last trip?It is across the road from near Fun holiday hotel on the beach. It is the main touristy nightclub infact I think the only indoor nightclub of its size and nature on the strip.Thursdays are a good night, ladies night they get in free and Saturdays are good too but it doesnt get hopping til around midnight so nice to chill at canoe or wherever you are until then or seastar then head to Jungle if a sat.
I wish I could come back and hang out more.I never see you on the webcasts do you know what they are?
It is on Realnegril.com and the schedule is on there and you can find the times the cameras go live and see all the boardies having fun and also chat and get to see local food places and bars .
How are you getting to Negril this time?If you do not want to do public transport~ the bus /route taxi you can jump on a juta bus from the airport for something like 25$ check their website.
I found a great pizza delivery guy so you must pm me for his details and just ask us all what you need to know!
Oh if it is still running I am sure someone will chime in here the wednesday pub crawl is so much fun its a bus that bar hops around the west end , its free too woo hoo you just tip the driver that is fun.Rhodes hall is nice for a day if you make a friend or even if you feel like some quiet time, there is crocs there horse riding and peacocks and a nice swimming pool private small beach and restaurant check their site for their details I think you could chill out there in peace one day you could get back in ya comfort zone ha ha speak to you soon

Hi there!! Thanks - and Yes!! Great to be up n'about on the board!!
You're right Guirigay - it is going to be an adventure!! I did indeed check into private drivers for this trip and perhaps once I get there, meet someone who has good karma, will endeavour to journey atleast partways with but... as it stands, I'm preparing myself for an all island route taxi/minibus type affair, both for the experience and to save $$. One that will last into the weeks, I would imagine... including a hike up Blue Mountain range - got me a great room there already with disclaimer of a few days early/late type dealeo.. I am trying to ensure I've got a week on the end to fulljoy Negril before it's all over but I guess we'll see -
Now, me dear Lady - TicToc - ahhh - what a night that was, going to check out the Jungle - ha!! That was indeed the same night - Christmas Eve then I guess eh?! no wait, Christmas Day!! that we were on da beach and den, da man insist I go wid im to chek id out!! woowee!! ahem, pardon me, WOOWEE!! Didn't stay for long as the meaning of JA dance was showing up full force that eve what with all the bumping n'grinding - not quite my style... and he wasn't keen on my not participating - go figure... so, yea, didn't last for long. But hey, glad I went. Even though, I never meant to give you a moment's fret - and I apologize if I did. It was indeed a shame we weren't able to re-connect after that -
As for the webcasts, you're right, I haven't participated, but that'll have to change!!
Rhodes Hall - sounds really nice!! Gonna try to make this a "Bob" orientated trip what with - visits to his place of rest, his home, his hangouts - If any of you know of any sweet spots, by all means - I'm listening!!
Thanks for your feedback - look forward to more... and more ... and more -
Will be sure to continue with my research!! Much Love, C

    Hi Chris:
A couple alternatives to regular route taxi's to get around the island:

Knutford Express bus - air conditioned service between MoBay and Kingston (via the north coast). Very reasonable and with a fixed schedule. For rates and schedules visit their website at www.knutfordexpress.com.

Southcoast Express - a/c service between Negril and Kingston (thru Mandeville & Sav). Their website does not seem to be operating, but their telephone number is 876-966-2826. Again very reasonable and with a fixed schedule.

Enjoy your tour - I have been around the island on mini buses many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experiences.

Hi ya BCBud - thanks for the info and the well wishes from a fellow Canadian!! Alberta over here... Good call 'bout the buses!! Down side is that I am hoping to check out the sites along the way - so I'll be sure to see if there is a "jump on, jump off" type option with them and go from there... really grateful for the suggestion tho 'cause if the route taxis start to feel a little overwhelming then it's nice to know I've got options (which goes along with Guirigay's reminder of having plans A, B & C - with D as backup Not to mention going so far as to include website/ph #s - top notch!! Glad to hear of your fulljoyment of doing similar ~ I suspect it's going to be an adventure I won't soon forget - if ever! YA YA!!
    Kind Regards,C

BaHaHaHa - that was Awesome Rambo!! Too funny!!
    so true too, eh?! hehe
Hmmm - nice reminder too that it was all fine n'dandy for a short spurt to Negril from Mo'Bay but!! around the rest of the island?!?!! Can't help but wonder aloud to myself -
That being said, between the charter mentioned above and the fact that my intention is indeed to stop often so yea, I can see myself giving it a whirl - didn't attempt the mini-bus experience alone my first time, mind you but... it's no longer my first time so... wish me luck!! besides how bad can it be, I ask myself whilst being reminded of your wild story.... it's all about perspective, right?! Cheers! Thanks for the link - definately glad you shared.. heehee
