I need your advice...ready to purchase my ticket!!

I'm trying to decide if I should fly Delta first class from SFO to Detroit Wayne and then on to MBJ on December 21st. Round trip $904.16. The layover is about 4 hours in Detroit. I'll arrive in Jamaica about 2:30pm on 12/22. However, I'm worried about the Detroit weather in December. Should I expect flight delays due to possible bad weather? Do you think the deal is to good to pass up? Please give me your advice...thanks!

I actually just went thru this myself today, and decided on the warmer weather layover, Charlotte. Dulles was my other option and at the end of December I'm not taking the chance....

Is there a reason you are going through Detroit? If not then you can get cheaper flights.

when I flew from Tampa to MoBay in January on Spirit........
the plane that was taking me from Tampa to Ft Lauderdale was originating in Detroit........
though there weren't any major snow/ice storms in Detroit that morning.......
that had to dei-ce the plane for whatever reason and made that plane an hour and half late for Tampa......
which in turn made our plane leaving Ft Lauderdale to MoBay late as they had to wait for us......
and all the other Spirit planes leaving Ft Lauderdale had to wait for passengers from the original Detroit flight.....
so mi would say you should avoid Detroit at all possible costs.........even if you have to pay a likkle bit more.......
for this guy there is nuthing worse than being behind schedule on your flights to Paradise.........
messes everything up.........even your driver waiting for you in MoBay......

Charlotte isn't necessarily a safe option. On our 2002 December trip our original flight, which connected through Charlotte, was cancelled at check in because they were iced in. We had to rebook through Miami.

True, but they definitely have less snow and ice than Detroit.....
