MADDDDDDDDDDDD with American Airlines!!!!

Received notice from Orbitz that my reservations for a nonstop from ORD to MBJ and MBJ to ORD was changed. Now I have one stop through Miami. YUKKKKKKK! Has anyone had any experience with the Miami airport????

Happened with Delta only the stop was in Atlanta, never fly out of the US again would rather drive 3 hours to Toronto any day.

DOH......so sorry this happened. Nonstops are so sweet and less stressful.

Miami airport is a handful if crowded so allow yourself plenty of layover time...I have been in lines for an hour and then to the next for another hour. But silver lining - they have the BEST Cuban Restaurant there - La Carreta http://www.lacarreta.com/ - it will ease the pain. I love the Miami vibe so I enjoyed the beautiful mosaics etc. but I understand if you are a get to JA as soon as possible people but if no other choice then try to enjoy yourself if possible.

I would check for other non-stops and see if Orbitz could accomodate (worth a try at least "if" they exist.

the object of this flight is to get you to jamaica.you probably will get there an hour later than your 1st flight.miami has a great airport.its big and full of all kinds of ppl. to watch.you even get to ride a train to your gate.so dont get all stressed out about it.think of where you will end up.and enjoy the moment.you dont have to work while your on vacation.that in its self is worth the price of the ticket.have a good vacation and do a lot of chillen.

Miami was a mess for us....we ran into some of the most rude people there, employees and travelers....

but en route to Jamaica ANYTHING is bearable....hope for a quick layover (enough time to meet your connection though)....
a good weather (no more delays)....

too bad 'ya cant drive there...lol air-boat or swim your only choices....

Thank you for all of the replies. I am grateful and blessed to be going to Ja. I was just venting. Actually, I will get to Ja about 90 minutes early. Not much time on the layover going to Ja. I hope my luggage makes it to the plane. (

as long as there's at least 45-60 minutes between flights your luggage should be fine - it's your person you have to make sure gets to the connecting flight... the MIA international terminal is large, they've done some renovations and now there are two different international terminal locations, so it's possible that the distances between domestic and int'l flights can be a bit of a walk, depending on which terminal you're flying from/to. And the airport is not well marked, it can easily be confusing if you're not prepared.

so i would make the suggestion that you find out from the airline what gate (or at least which terminal) your domestic flight arrives to, and what gate/terminal your connecting flight departs from - then go online and look at the MIA airport map, that way you'll be better prepared & know exactly where you'll be going between flights once you get there.

Incredibly large airport .... Sometimes, when you arrive from Mont Bay and have to go thru customs, there is an LOT of walking involved ....
