Kuyaba Cottage question

I have stayed in pretty much every room at Kuyaba.....even some that are no longer there...lol.

I have never stayed or been in the cottage right between the honeymoon suite and the restaurant. Photo below....

Anyone here ever stay in it? Are the walls as thin as the cottages up front?

Any input on this particular cottage is appreciated.

It's a duplex so there are 2 separate units in the little cottage. I stayed in the unit to the left (if you're facing the cottage) on my first trip to Negril in 95 or 96 when the hotel was named Sea Gem and the restaurant was Kuyaba. Back then it didn't have A/C or screens so it was an adventure. I've never been in the unit to the right.

I've been back to Kuyaba each year since that first trip but always stay in the honeymoon room so I can't compare it to the larger cottage in back. We have a friend that has come with us several times over the years and he always stays in the left unit of the cottage. I think his last trip with us was 2 years ago...the unit now has A/C and a small fridge. The shutters are screened in now as well. The unit is very small with 2 single beds that I believe could be pushed together for a full-size bed. Walls and floor are thin but our friend hasn't complained about that. Not a lot of room but it has a nice sized patio and is a good deal for the rate we get for him. Plus, it's Kuyaba! Great staff, wonderful food and perfect location on the beach.

Thanks! That helps alot! We also enjoy the honeymoon suite but am travelling on a tighter budget on a longer trip than usual. I'm hoping to make do with the cottage on the left you described. We dont need much. You can't go wrong at Kuyaba

We plan on being there over New Year's but the honeymoon suite isn't available. Not sure if we'll take a different room at Kuyaba or stay somewhere else. Maybe we'll run into you if we stay at Kuyaba.

I have stayed in it once for I think 2 weeks, 10 or 12 years ago. [Actually I've stayed in every room category at Kuyaba, since it's once of my favorite hotels.] I was on a very tight budget then, and decided it was better to spend 2 weeks in a tiny cottage than 1 week in a large room. Yes, the walls are thin, but it is kept spotless as are the rest of the rooms on property. I have a little more money these days when I travel, and can't imagine booking a room that small at this point because I'm a little claustrophobic, but if you don't mind small spaces it's cute.
