Congratulations on your daughters upcoming wedding, as a father of 4 including 2 married daughters, I strongly suggest you visit the community of the wedding ceremony at least twice before the actual event . it is impossible to make all the arrangements for a destination wedding from 100's if not 1000's of miles away. No matter how small the details may seem, there are no small details when it comes to a daughters wedding.
I know it may be an inconvenience for you and your family but I can't stress enough, you should definitely get to Negril in advance (cpl of times) to ensure all the details are as desired.

I think you can go either way, depending on the size of the wedding. We just got married in Destin, FL. We live in Atlanta, and went down there twice to work out our arrangements and things. It was a major pain to drive all the way down there, but I felt it was necessary both times. We had about 35 guests. My sister go married in Negril, and had never even been there before. It was just the two of them, though. They got married at one of the Sandals resorts, I believe. I planned our entire wedding (everyone says it is odd that the guy did it) without a coordinator. It was one of the most stressful things I have ever had to do.

Congratulations on your daughter's pending nuptuals! How fun and what a place to do it. I think you'll have fun no matter what. And when it's all over, take a "WeddingMomMoon" at a quiet resort in Negril.

Daydreamer ~ She is getting married at Riu Tropical Bay. I've never been there before, but been to Negril 4 other times. It looks nice and I'm sure all will be fine. Just a touch fancier than her daddy and I are used to.We took our daughter when she graduated from HS and again a couple years later. When she "knew" she was going to get married~ there was NO question in her mind where she wanted to do it. Negril!
