    Blackwell Rum

Has anyone tried this Jamaican Rum?
The 'hints of orange peel and burnt coconut' has piqued my interest ......
It had quite a nice write up in the Caribbean Journal: http://www.caribjournal.com/2012/07/...blackwell-rum/

I've bought it at the airport last few trips. Not cheap at about $35/bottle but it is really good and not available where I live. I drink it on the rocks and use the cheaper stuff for mixing. As far as orange peels and burnt coconut....yeah whatever, my tasters arent that literate.

Sorry but I feel is a below average rum....way overpriced.....much better rums all around. It's a rum that part blackstrap, part Spiced....keep looking....try any El Dorado, Plantation, or Diplomatico or even Appleton rums ...all excellent sipping rums.....this is no sipper.

Yeah, anything to make a buck. Just got done reading Don Taylor's Book (Bob's Manager) and he doesn't paint such a flattering picture of him. Good thing his mother had loads of money or he might have ended up a cheap con artist instead of a rich one.

We got the Blackwell to bring back for somebody. It's pretty awesome! You can get it at HiLo for way cheaper than $35! Waaaaay cheaper. I don't recall exactly what we paid, but it was under $20 US. Now wonder at the airport! The Eaton's rum bbq sauce is less than $3 at HiLo and it goes for a whopping $10 at the airport. Duty free is not necessarily profit free!

Well I am not a rummy connaisseur, but I liked it very much, they gave me a bottle at The Caves and I bought it and have been sipping it. Maybe there is better, but, I was very surprised at how good this is.
