Day 2/3 con't and then finshed
We pull up to Canoe and we are the only people there. I loved it instantly! I believe I could hang here all day and be extremely happy! Now they are adding a swim up bar! OMG hell yeah! The place was dead, but it was completely fine by us. Kirby was in Canada visiting his wife, so we were a little disappointed by that, but life goes on. RastaDave got the beautiful Jamaican bartender to play some of his music, the Rum Punches….as I am told… were really good. One did get ordered for me, but I just can't do it. I know myself on liquor, and it isn't pretty, so I stick with beer. This trip was not going to be messed up by my inability to handle liquor.
I watched my husband a lot this trip. It was just bliss seeing him so happy & relaxed. My Gary was letting go. Something he hadn’t done in many years. He is the good responsible one in this house… always my voice of reason. It was so good to have him back. Laughing and joking, and making me laugh like he did “back in the day”. He still makes me laugh, but this was 25 year old Gary making me laugh. And he's just damn funny sometimes!!.
We had a blast hanging with RastaDave and Lynette. Canoe is spectacular! After a while, DaveVols showed up with his wife! Ooopss, I completely forgot I met DaveVols and his wife at Sea Star! I think I might have met RockRobster there as well. Hhhhmmm maybe I drank more than I thought. Oh well … anywho… DaveV & wife are a super nice couple, and I was totally happy to have them show up at Canoe.
We did our introductions, and then Gary & I decided to look around on the beach for a few. We saw a ghost crab, and I thought how wonderful it would be to get a pic. However, since they are ghost crabs, seeing them is kind of a small problem. I can certainly leave it up to my husband to come thru for me. They really do look like ghosts in the sand! Anyway, we started taking some pics, and the sunset was just beautiful, but when isn’t it?
Then comes dinner. I hadn’t really planned on ordering anything, and I see DaveVols & his wife eating some awesome looking food. DaveV was enjoying the Mahi Mahi which I ordered right away, and Gary decided to eat some of my plate….. and I thought, whatever. He was enjoying his alcohol too much to worry about food at the moment.
I did forget to mention that it was RastaDave’s birthday, and we were celebrating. Yes we were! RastaD was drinking… drink after drink after drink, and so was Gary. Gary decided RastaD needed to drink every drink on the drink menu board. I don’t think he completed the task, but he came darn close.
(I just asked Gary if there was anything I need to say about our night at Canoe. His response “Good food, good drinks. It was fun!” Maybe I need to let him write the trip report.)
The night went on, and the laughs were spectacular. DaveV and his wife left before the rest of us were ready to go, so the four of us remained & it was just a good time. I did learn what the Scrub-a-Dub was. Apparently, RastaD is a bit of a jokester and tells me that two girls who just came in winked at my husband after Gary had “ordered them up”. These girls did kinda look the part, and they did just walk in, look around, and leave. I believe RastaD told me they were going to meet them later at the Scrub-a-Dub. Unlucky for him, I know my man better than that. We did have a good laugh, however, because my husband mind fricked the hell outta RastaD…giving him a giant spoonful of his own meds! It was so freaking hilarious, and I totally understand you had to be there.
It was getting late, and time to get back. Our cab picked us up, drove us back to Catcha. Thru the green gates we go, and off to the terrace for a lil sit down together. The bed called our names again, and we happily obliged.
Another blissful day in Jamaica, with some really great people!

Stir IT UP
Great report and pics. You are writing a great report and sure don't need Gary's help, let him write his own.

I know exactly what you mean, Jamaica does this to Markus too. He's the responsible one in our household as well and it's nice to see him stress-free, so blissful, laughing and letting loose.
I'm really enjoying your trip report, looking forward to the next update.
