Cliffs Help for a Beach Couple!

Ok - so hubby and I are planning our 10 yr anniversary trip in early December and need some help. Our first trip to Negril was when he proposed to me - so we've been going for 10 years and have only stayed on the West End once - for half of our honeymoon! Now we want to split our time for this trip between beach and cliffs, but aren't sure where to stay. We have our beach place booked (NBCC) and our air fare bought, so this is the final piece! I've been sending out inquiries and these are the places I'm considering. View and privacy are most important to us, in-room fridge would be ideal, a/c not necessary but nice. We don't need luxury, but a bar/resto on site would also be ideal.

First choice - Westender Inn - we visited here as a stop on the Pub Crawl and fell in love. A little pricier than what we were hoping, but I think we are very spoiled by our beach rates!

Second thought - Banana Shout - love the quirkiness, but if we take one of the Dolphin cottages, how noisy/not private is it if the other one is also taken?

Potential contenders via my conversation with Negril One Stop
    - Sunset on the Cliffs
    - Le Mirage

Out of contention for no availability - Catcha, Blue Cave Castle (thought the Penthouse would be wonderfully romantic), Tensing Pen - only availability is garden view.

Any and all comments/suggestions are welcome and solicited! Thank you!!!!

I think your first choice is a pretty good one, plus it definitely meets all of your requirements

But since you asked for other suggestions here are just a few that come to mind
    Villas sur Mer
    Citronella
    Rockhouse
    Xtabi (cliff side cottage)

P.s. maybe you could reach out to Catcha and see if their new room will be available for your dates, because as we all know, that would definitely be my first choice!

    And congrats on the anniversary!

Westender is quite nice! If you try calling or emailing, you might be able to get a better deal. As you know, it is much further out than many other resorts. Second choice, I would think about Le Mirage. Since they have updated the place and added the infinity pool, it is really quite nice and very low key. They had air, small frig, coffee pots and really large rooms. Very nice location but no bar. Right across the street, there is a hopping likkle place with bar and food. Plus, you are located much closer to stores, etc and access to their sister property on the beach..Charlea.
Anyway you go, you will definitely become a cliff dweller!! Enjoy to the max!!!

We are going the last week of November for our 10th anniversary as well!! Congrats! I think that we are going to book a week at Le Mirage. And you are right, Negril One Stop recommended the place. Susan said they stayed there this winter and it was beautiful. Although I've never stayed at Westender, it is a very beautiful resort. I cried when we left after visiting for the day! lol But my husband wants to be closer to the action and so I had to pick somewhere closer to town. Good luck with your decision. I'm sure no matter where you choose it wil be a lovely vacation!

Thanks, Marley, Yetta and Begels - I am a little concerned about how removed Westender is from everything else and am trying to balance our desire for some quiet reconnecting time and the desire to explore the West End more. Great info on Le Mirage ... Decisions, decisions. And emailing Westender directly definitely helped!

I've never stayed at Le Mirage but have stayed at Charela for 14 years and if the rooms and staff are as nice as that then you can't go wrong.

Westender is only a short cab ride or scooter ride away from all of the other action on the West End. I hear their driver is very flexible as well, so don't let the extra remoteness worry you.

I stayed at the Le Mirage for a week before they remodeled and added the pool and it was very nice then! Do keep in mind that the pool area is clothing optional, but I consider that a definite plus!

LOL flfungal - that's something I didn't know about Le Mirage! Not a deterrent at all, but good to know! Right now we are debating between Westender and Le Mirage ... Banana Shout is still in the running, but has fallen to third! Thanks to everyone for your comments/suggestions!
