White Sands room questions >>>> Fatfish??

I've got some White Sands questions. I know Fatfish is the resident expert but any input is greatly appreciated

I've stayed in the Villa at White Sands but have never been in a standard room. I have a beachside standard room reserved for the Xmas holidays. I understand that the beachside standard rooms are smaller than garden side.

Can anyone give me an idea how small they really are? Anyone have any photos? How close to the road is this particular room and is road noise a problem? Is there a patio with table & chairs?

I'm really diggin' that there is NO TV in the room! NICE!

    THANKS!!!!!

I stayed at a beach side standard room 2 years ago. The rooms are small with a bed and small fridge taking up most of the space. There is a small table and couple of chairs on either patio or balcony. Road noise is more of an issue the farther from the beach your room is. Go to bed liquored or tired and noise becomes a non issue. To give you an idea of the size, think about the smallest motel room you have ever stayed in and the White Sands room will not be quite that big. Paul mixes pretty good blender drinks though to help you sleep. And what I always say is; once your eyes are closed, does it really matter how big the room is.
If you are worried about something, do something about it. If there is nothing you can do, why worry!

    LOL....Thanks for the info!

We dont need much & am grateful & lucky to have landed a room over the Xmas & New Years holidays....especially at $69 a night! Thats crazy cheap for beachside with AC & refrigerator over a major holiday in a decent hotel. I expect plenty of holiday partying....so the rooms just a place to pass out...lol.

I have stayed in standard beach side, and they are small and minimal--smallest room I have ever been in in Negril. But that said it had the basics, double bed, dresser, fridge. Really all I needed. Small bathroom. It was clean and since I don't hang out in the room except to sleep and shower it was fine. There was s narrow balcony area (I was upstairs) with a couple of chairs and a small table. everyones porches were right next to one another without much in the way of division as I recall--so if I was sitting there at the same time as neighbors were, we were sort of right on top of each other. But it worked ok for me--nice location, nice beach area--sun and shade areas to chill out at so I didn't spend much time on the porch or in the room.

I had no problem with road noise--but my room was closer to the beach. I like being upstairs--a little more privacy.

Just be GRATEFUL that you got a room at all- been going for 30 years to Negril, last 30 to WS. Xmas is fabulous there. Put on the a/c, the noise will rock you to sleep if you are not a big drinker. That and the sun will knock you out.

    When do you arrive?
