Cool Where to hear reggae in Negril

    Hello!

I will be visiting Negril for the first time the last week of June. I LOVE reggae and dancehall and am wondering where to go to hear some good live reggae music, and/or dancehall reggae bar/club. What are some good places to hang out at night for a few drinks and to meet people?

    Thank you!

Everywhere !!!!! you picked the most perect place on earth for what you are looking for.
Bourban Beach, Alfreds and Roots Bamboo are the main beach bars. The Jungle is the club to catch the dancehall. Seastar on Saturday nights, Boat bar for afternoon reggae. You have to have an afternoon at Ricks . Check out Negril Escape too - they often have big named artists but not sure if they have anyone coming up. Ask the staff at the place you're staying - they will know of any additonal shows/parties .......be warned though, for a lover of Reggae and Dancehall Negril will be come very addictive

Be sure to stop in at the world famous Boat Bar to hear some free live reggae featuring Otis Gayle and the band!! They offer ice cold red stripes and delicious food and also have pool tables.

The Boat bar is located right on the beautiful 7 mile beach and you can relax in the sand and sea while listening to the hot live reggae!!

Go to 'On The Rocks' on Wednesday for dj's playing dancehall. It's in the west end, not too far up at all on the right side. Don't go until after 10pm.

That place is great... it's all outside and has a nice bar.

On The Rocks didnt have their Wednesday party when I was there in May. Not sure if it was just an off night or due to slow season.

Most likely due to slow season. We were there at the end of the April and they had the party, but in general you could tell the slow season was just about to take hold.
