This August will be my first time traveling to Jamaica during Hurricane season... I know I'm going to be checking the National Hurricane Center website every day leading up to departure and biting my nails.

The cone of death is the forecast cone in the picture in the first post. It is a matrix of all of the possible tracks according tot he forecast model. It means the the Eye of the storm could be in any part of that cone. The cone gets wider as you go further out due to the uncertainty of the forecast.

The eye rarely passes at the center of a cone that is 5 days out. I seriously doubt this will be anything significant from Jamaica.

This is coming from 5 years of living in Miami. Been through many Hurricane seasons.
