I think it would be easier and cheaper to unlock my extra iPhone myself (or have someone else do it), than to purchase one on eBay. I know people at my office that unlock their iPhones all the time. I just need to know what I need to do in JA once it is unlocked. The other poster said AT&T will unlock iPhones not under contract. I think I am going to try that when our trip gets closer.

Leave your phone at home. Get a cheap phone/plan in Negril for calls to/from home.
Or, if you are bringing your laptop, use Skype phone for calls home.
