i'm a smoker also and i 100% agree that if a property has a no-smoking policy, that information is absolutely de rigeur on the booking website. for me it makes a difference as to whether or not i book a particular place. Even though i sometimes do book a no-smoking hotel anyway, if i have to fit a certain travel schedule or whatever, it's important that i'm made aware of all hotel rules & regs up front at the time of booking.
the overall point is, i agree that the customer MUST be informed about all policies clearly and up front, so they are able to make an informed choice.
