Need input on Negril Yoga Centre

I've got some newby friends coming down to Negril for New Years They are under a tight budget and accommodations are limited in the beach area in their price range for the days they are travelling. I've found availability at Negril Yoga Centre and it works out good as I'll be at Kuyaba and we'll be close to each other.

I've done some searches and read a few tripadvisor reviews and everything seems to be ok. My friends doent require much as its "just a room" for them but I need them on a safe property with security. I've searched all over and this seems to be the best option.

Is there anyone here who has stayed on the property and is familiar with it? Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks!!

I have stayed at the Yoga Centre several times. I think it's a good alternative for inexpensive accomodations. Like you said, it is basically "just a room", but the rooms I have stayed in were both nice. They have good food for breakfast cooked on site, too. The only downside for me was the road noise if staying near the front of the property.Name: Bamboo1 (2).jpg

I stayed there a few years back when I was on a limited budget, also during the New Year's holiday (12/27-1/9), & it was a good deal... good location, safe, close to beach & town, etc. I'd just had shoulder surgery & it was a good place to stay. I felt very safe, was comfortable, although the humidity bothered me (no AC in my room but I had an indoor shower). For a budget stay, you can't go wrong. The Yoga Centre is funky in a good way. Was around 26+ years ago when I first started going to Negril, it was a highly recommended place then for the "hippie" traveler. I used to be one but that was 20 years before I started going to Negril - LOL.

If you can handle no AC, outside noise (shutters not windows) and perhaps a shared bathroom, the place is OK according to just about everyone who has been there. The vibe is good management, good security and a good sense of community between the guests.
