Interesting that Seastar and Bar B Barn have come up so often by boardies .... I would describe both properties as affordable with great food, obviously a POTENT combo. Indeed, it is hard to find both of those qualities in the same hotel, agreed?

My first trip was in 2001... Country Country, then Negril Cabins (now Sunset at the Palms), Point Village, Couples Negril, Point Village again, Country country again, Rooms Negril twice..... and already booked for Feb 2012. We love the 7 mile beach, but since joining this board, I have to admit that I'm curious about the cliffs. I just can give up the beach!
5 vs 5 different spots, but I finally found my 'home'
Riu Tropical Bay (hated it)
Legends

Yoga Center (2) - Nice, basic accommodations for those on a budget, yoga sessions available
Sunset on the Cliffs - Nice pool
Blue Cave Castle - Loved it! (Room #8) pleasant staff and wonderful views
Yard in Redground - Great for getting a feel for "real life" in JA, close to Red Dragon
Catcha Falling Star- Great staff, beautiful facility
Rooms - Nice, but not really my "cup of tea"
Seastar Inn - Wonderful staff, nice swim-up bar, good food, Saturday night buffet and entertainment
BarBBarn - Nice spot on the beach close to lots of bars, restaurants, etc.
This is such a great thread Topic, Gerry! I love reading everyone's list. I'm attracted to the places that people keep going back to over and over... that's a sign that it's a place definitely worth staying at on my next trip.
My own list is pretty short.. Only 2 places and you already know what they are, but I'll list them here anyway.
Grand Pineapple - Awesome staff and great food
Coco La Palm - Loved it - 2 pools, good happy hour specials and Best stretch of beach I've seen!
Hoping some day to reach the lucky seven number.
Looking to split our next trip between cliffs and beach. I'm thinking about possibly "Catcha" or "Xtabi". Still not sure....
