    Beach etiquette

We found the vendors on the beach to be noticeably less intense this year compared to same time last year. One " no thanks" usually did the job. Also did not see one beach dog on the loose! Last Feb they were all over the place. Beach walks are much more pleasing now. If this was due to some local initiative..it works!

    Re: Beach etiquette

I always start my visit with a walk to Barry's bar for a red stripe and buy a necklace. We usually walk to at least Alferd's or to town every day from around Treehouse area where we usually stay, and I think this was the first year that nobody even asked us in 3 weeks to buy a braclet. I agree that the vibe was much more relaxed this year, and it made us check out more of the wares that people had offer. I think walking the beach and hitting Mirna's store or Tony's Hut, and all the places along the way for a cold drink, or just a coconut water from a beach vendor, to be one the things we enjoy most about Negril. I do enjoy the familiar faces of the vendors working the beach year after year, and have no problem buying them a cold one, as i usually don't need what they are selling, but am usually approached not for anything more than a how are you today mi friend. I agree it works for me too, Cheers!Name: dover 225.jpg

I agree Kahuna I miss it it was the best place to hang late at night. Many deep conversations. I like Robert and Maureens new place but the old one was just a little better.
