...staying at Seastar Inn...any cliff places nearby that...

That we can snorkel, jump, and/or generally "hang out" for a good spell without being a guest?..I know Catcha is open for the public after 5...and I think that Xtabi is visitor friendly, but quite a walk from Seastar lane....I'm sure peewee's is cool but very small. Does anyone know where may be a good place to go hang out, that we can partake of the cliffs experience, without being registered?..I'm assuming that we may need to be drink buying patrons at some places, that's not a deal breaker, but reaching from our own cooler would be more cost effective. What about Tensing Pen...seems like it's "right there"...anyone?

Negril Escape should accomodate. Buy lunch (good food) and you`ll be fine. Ask at the gate.
Turn right at the end of Seastar Lane and it`s a couple hundred yards.

Regarding "Tensing Pen", the answer is no. Awesome resort for sure but for registered guests only. If you want to snorkel, you could head up to the lighthouse area. There is a wooden ladder there but it is a long one. For me, it is a little too high and I get spooked but my husband heads right down it and doesn't look back. LOL

Also, during the day, Ricks is a nice place to hang out and snorkel with easy access. The good thing about it is that it is not crowded during the day. Plus, the view is phenomenal! Around 4 or so, the bus loads start heading up. You can't bring a cooler in but we have found it a nearby place to snorkel. If you buy a drink or maybe some appetizers you're cris!

Generally speaking, Xtabi would be on my top list of "friendly" places to hang out and snorkel. Again, buying drinks or food while enjoying their establishment is only fair. Just grab a route taxi after you walk down Seastar Lane and you will be good to go. 100J per person which is quite reasonable to me. Remember...red plates on the route taxi's! Enjoy!

shouldn't really limit yourselves to places that you can walk to........taxi rides are fairly inexpensive
though there are quite a few places within walking distance of the SeaStar Inn........
when mi at SeaStar mi hang amd walk to Catcha, LTU, Sharks and Bella Donnas for food and drinks..........
for snorkeling it's either xtabi or peee wees.....mi prefer pee wees cause the snorkeling is the best there......
mi take a taxi to go to da Canoe, Chicken Lavish, Jenny's/C&D, HiLo and da Corner Bar/Seaview Bar.......

Xtabi is definetely what I would call my home base. Beach, cliffs, caves, snorkeling, jumping, and sun. If I am not mistaken won't seastar shuttle take you anywhere on main road you want to go. Also I know Xtabi will send for pickup if you call.

Thanks for your responses, we are excited to be able to stay at Seastar Inn this reach, but wondered how we could best get our "cliffs" on....I guess a taxi wouldn't kill us...is there a "best" all around cliffs experience that anyone could recommend? Right now it's looking like Xtabi, with their platforms, cave, snokeling, etc...we may just be able to do 1 day cliffside, and want it to rock..

I gotta agree. Xtabi is the best option. Nice snorkeling in the area. Great place to have lunch too!

Xtabi is so chill, accessable water, uncrowded with reasonably priced good food. Great loungers with shade if need be. Beautiful bar and people.
