I bring my own gear for around the cliffs but alway enjoy the Famous Vincent experience. He supplies gear so if he's all you want, leave your gear at home and save the extra weight in your luggage.

I always bring my snorkel gear in the mesh bag it came with--it fits me perfectly as it was sized at a pro dive shop. No leaky mask and hours of entertainment. I stuff a few other items in the bag since it is my main carry on-- shorts, swimsuit, change of tshirt, cosmetics etc in case my luggage is delayed. I must say that there have been a few trips out of 15 or so that I didn't use it at all--sand gravity--other spontaneous plans etc but still I didn't regret hauling it along for the trip.
To be honest...I was a bit disappointed in the snorkeling, as I've experienced better. Don't get me wrong, it's lotsa fun to be out there swimming with all the fishies....but from what I understand it's a dead reef? Just dont expect to see a huge variety of interesting sea life. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my time snorkeling along the cliffs....saw some enormous rays, but that was about the extent of that.
I snorkeled around Samsara on my first trip...and found the best time to be morning. Brought my own mask and snorkel and wasn't too worried about fins as the water was calm and I'm a strong swimmer. My last trip I stayed at Catcha but the water was quite rough and I ended up distracted by other activities so I really can't speak for the snorkeling there.
Not to be redundant but It really is a great time out with Vincent....

Thanks Mr.Twister, that's really cool and I'm happy to hear it. No doubt I will continue to snorkel around the cliffs and look forward to seeing the growth and improvement. That's very encouraging

true it is nothing like Hawaii or Turks and Caicos, but I still love tooling around and checking things out.
