Rooms seems to be considered a nicer hotel & beach than legends. The otel.com site has had Rooms for $70 night, even in February, been a few weeks since I saw it though.

I loved Country Country enough that I'm going again in November. Planning to go to Negril in April and hoping to catch Coco's mad sale to try that out and may also combine with a seaside cottage at Xtabi (already booked, but will reduce the days depending on what I can get at Coco). If travelling as a couple I would love to stay at Idle Awhile...but doesn't work for me cost wise with needing two beds.

Heard good things about the Wild Parrot, would like to give that a try some time, and possibly a one bedroom suite at White Sands.

    Hi Melody,
I think everyone here has their own favorite special place in Negril. Definitely so many great choices in Negril, that you really can't go wrong, but we happen to LOVE Idle Awhile. Great beach location, wonderful, kind and attentive staff, beautiful rooms and gardens, nice little bar, just so lush, peaceful and relaxing there! The upper level rooms kinda make you feel as though you are in your own secluded treehouse, yet steps from the beautiful beach.
And on the cliffs, we love staying at The Rockhouse. :-)

Idle Awhile is special. Zenlike atmosphere and secure with top notch beach service. A little more money but worth it. For value The Treehouse has great deals with a buffet breakfast. Rooms has nice rooms, great private beach area, but their breakfast and service is just OK. (As of Feb 2012) White Sands has lots of happy clients, good location and value. Personally for the beach, Rooms is as far south as I would go.
