Cell / SIM card question
Hi all!
First thanks for letting me lurk on this board for so long. This board is a tremendous resource and I appreciate it.
Do most of the places that cell Pre-paid phone cards for cell minutes also sell SIM cards? Or would I need to go to a cell store for that? I have an unlocked quad band phone already. Thanks!

You would need to go to Digicel or one of the other providers stores.

You need to go to certain store to get the SIM Card. I've stopped and bought the SIM in Lucea on the way in and also in downtown Negril. Digicel is what I use... can't speak about any others.Originally Posted by Spiff

I was thinking Lime, but I have no real concrete reason for that preference. Is one better than the other in and around Negril? There will be a few calls back to the US on it, if that makes a difference.
lime is 2.99ja a minute to usa now, just over 3 cents a minute.. it works great, island wide
I think it's 6.99j if you call a digicel phone which is still only around 8 cents a minute....seems to me it's more using Digicel's prepaid minutes, both locally & to USA/Canada...anyone know for sure? I emailed lime asking for locations, there's one handy (I think?) in Montego Bay and the one in Negril is upstairs in the ValueMaster building by the roundabout. The one in Negril is open 9-5, and the Montego Bay location is 8-6, both Mon-Sat, if memory serves me correctly.
Does Lime have online top up? That's a nice feature that Digicel has.
