    Not your fault Flip. This happens here from time to time. I think most of us just keep hoping this particular thread ends...and it does not.

    I actually feel the same way, but mainly because I've seen tipping threads get far more heated.

    I probably should have avoided the thread because it's usually a very polarized subject that makes people uncomfortable.

    I will say that given my experiences I feel that keeping the status quo often isn't for the best, and that the tipping system is fundamentally flawed in my opinion.

    Will that keep me from tipping and tipping generously? No, but I will say that the tipping culture is one that locks people in a vicious cycle and hurts more than it helps.

    I used to be in the tipping based service industry and am still in the service industry and the difference is huge.
