Just wanted to show off some more of Dre's work.
He spends hours crocheting and doing bead work, when he isn't farming. He has to travel all the way from Manchester to Kingston to get the materials. Some of the materials are hard to find but he always manages.

Day 3: Cont.
I wish I could spend every minute I wake up out by the lighthouse but one must go on. We walked along the road near the lighthouse to get to Ricks Café, we saw goats, hotels, and a few local guys racing their bikes. A few taxi’s offered their service, but we declined…I wanted to see everything not watch it whisk by in a car.

We get to Ricks and Dre tells me to stop, pose for a pic, then we can go in. We went in , no one greeted us but they did stare. There was a lot of other tourists there, watching the guys jump into the water. We both are pretty thirsty so we head upstairs for a drink. A waitress walked past us a few times, I called out and asked her if we could get some service…told her what we wanted and she says, “ go downstairs.” I’m like okay…odd, but we get up and walk back downstairs to the bar. It was a bit crowded but not overly. There were about 8 people and 2 large groups (5+), we waited, waited and waited…No one serviced us, but they did stare. After about 30 minutes or so of waiting and trying to get attention we both left. That kind of hurt that it happened…not sure what the issue was, but I don’t plan to visit again. Ricks café seems like a rather nice place though.

Kaycee nice report and pictures. As for Ricks you did not miss anything.
Great trip report! Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
I feel like I am right there with you guys. Tell Dre that his shoes totally rock!! You know how here in the States the current popularity of "Tom's " shoes....he should have a JA version called Dre's!!!
That really sucks that you guys were not given the respect deserving your visit to Ricks. It is not a favorite place of mine but it is a place that all the visit Negril needs to see at least once. Quite frankly, my favorite time to drop in there is early in the day right after they open. It is quiet, chilled and a great place to snorkel and have a drink or two. Maybe, the next time will be better.
Carry on, your reports and photos are truly inspiring.
