Hi Everyone!!
I'm off of vacation and already missing Negril. I will begin uploading pictures and a trip report!
Can't wait!! Just finished your trip report. Love the shoes!!
Day 1: 9/14
I caught an early flight out of Savannah, GA at 7AM. I arrived in Charlotte NC at 8:30 or so. The airport was very busy, I had a quick breakfast and proceeded to walk half a mile before finding my gate, getting my passport checked and waiting. We finally boarded and I realized I had an awesome seat! I was sitting beside a motherly type lady who was going to Montego Bay to visit her family. We made small talk the entire way and the flight was a good one. We were the first ones off the plane and I passed through Immigrations in less than 20 minutes. On my last trip in May, it took close to two hours, so the timing was perfect. I headed to the baggage claim but my bag was nowhere to be found…I waited a good 30 minutes before I got it and off I went to Customs. The line was very long!! So many couples had 4 to 5 bags, plus wedding dresses and tuxs. I see lots of people get married in Jamaica…very cool. I got through Customs hassle free, stopped at Cambio to exchange money. I felt the lovely Jamaican sunshine as soon as I stepped outside….but I was instantly surrounded by men offering me a ride. I looked to my right and there was a man holding a sign that said Clives Transport. I went over and introduced myself and we headed to Negril. Along the way we stopped at a local Digicel store and I got a cheap phone, which was $44USD. I took in a few sights but sleep overpowered me and I slept most of the way to Negril. We soon arrived to Kuyaba and it was absolutely beautiful! The entrance and pathway to the front desk & restaurant is surrounded by trees and other vegetation. I felt right at home. I checked in with Zelma…the room was a Deluxe with 2 beds. It was clean, spacious and comfortable.
Fantastic to see you trip reporting again Kaycee! Thanks![]()
Stir IT UP
This is a great report, I can feel you love it! Such a pretty girl, tell us more!!!
Day 1: Cont.
After unpacking, I caught a cab to Hi-Lo. I bought some water, a few fruit juices, snacks and fruit. On the way back I saw a lady cooking jerk chicken that smelled amazing! I had to have some so I asked the driver to stop. It was very spicy and came with a few hard pieces of bread. After I finished eating I took a two hour nap (the heat always gets to me). I freshened up, and then headed to the restaurant located on the Kuyaba premises. I ordered brown stew chicken and a tropical punch drink…I took everything back to my room. Most of the rooms at Kuyaba only have chairs outside not in the rooms…I had to sit and eat on my bed. Yes, I made a complete mess! The sheets on my bed were covered in sauce an pieces of rice, lol! I made a mental note to go to the office early in the morning to ask them to send someone to change my sheets!
Day 2:
I got up very early to see the sunrise, it was absolutely beautiful to sit outside in the hammock and take in that wonderful site. I went back inside my room and had a light breakfast of fruit. I decided to wear a very colorful tie-dye shirt and dark blue ripped shorts. I walked out near the road, but I was stopped by the security guard. He says “Good Morning my baby, you look very beautiful…so thick and chocolaty.” (LMAO)! All I could do was laugh and smile. Some of the comments I hear from Jamaican guys do make me feel more confident about myself but I had never been called chocolaty before. I told him I wanted to go to the craft market at the opposite end of Negril, near the water park…so he got a cab for me and off I went. Many of the stalls were still closed, good thing for me because I was not hassled as much. I brought a dress and 2 bracelets. I realize many of the people selling crafts; have no variety and things begin to look the same after a while. When I buy I try to find items that are unique to add to my jewelry collection.
After I get back to my room, I get a call from Dre saying he was on his way. I start to panic and ask myself how do I look, run to the mirror but I look fine. An hour later I get a message from Dre, telling me to come outside and there he is! He looked very handsome…and I was cheesin’ at him like a big ass kid! We said our hellos and we talked for a little bit. We didn’t do much that day but we did explore the property. I think we counted over 25 lizards that day. We had a stalker lizard missing a tail that hung out right over our door. I was so afraid he was going to jump on me! Every time I moved, so did he…LOL!
I couldnt get my Camera to work, so I had to rely on my phone..which doesnt take good pictures.Attachment 17470Attachment 17471Attachment 17472Attachment 17473Attachment 17474Attachment 17475Attachment 17476Attachment 17477
