Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know of an event taking place this Sunday September 9th starting at 9 am called the "Negril Olympics" (www.negrilolympics.com). The first half, the athletic competitions, will take place at the Negril Sports Complex behind the Police Station (http://www.negrilolympics.com/#!map/c1eb3). This will go until about 4 pm.The second half, the karaoke competition, will take place at Travellers Beach Resort, starting at 7:30 pm. This is a Negril Chamber of Commerce fundraising event that we hope to make anual, eventually involving more of the community and businesses in Negril.

In this inaugural showing of the Negril Olympics, competitors will be competing in a series of athletic and non-athletic events including netball, basketball, football (soccer), volleyball, 100 meter sprints (male & female), 4x100 (male & female), dominoes, tug-of-war (male & female) and karaoke. Athletes will be representing various Negril businesses that include Westender Inn, Rockhouse, Moondance, Seawind Resort, Grace Kennedy, and Travellers Beach Resort.

Referees are being provided by the Sports Development Commission of Jamaica (SDC) and the trophies have been sponsored by Negril Estate (www.negrilestate.com).

There will be food and drinks on sale at the sports complex. All going towards much needed funds for the Chamber.
