Hereare 3 shots from my older Canon P&S...with a zoom lens...original shot on 'rooms was taken from 25-30 ft away, it does have (Imag Stab)...taken with a resting brace no tripod.........so a cheaper camera can produce good results in my opinion......
Tip....every camera has a tripod hole..find a loop that will screw in there..tie some string or heavy twine through the loop and let hang down by your foot......to be sure of a relative blur free shot,,step down on the string, pull the camera up,making the string taught, take your shot.....you pulling up lightly helps to "stabilize" the camera in all other directions...(try it-it works)....
