I heard that Roaring River was once an amazing tour, but it has gotten some negative press lately.

I have never been there so I can't speak to it personally, but it sounds like these issues have sprung up over the last 6 months or so. Hopefully these concerns get resolved soon, but for now I don't know if I would want to visit the cave if there is no lighting.
There's plenty of cool caves on the West End, anyhow. Check out Joseph's Cave.
I would if time permits, go and walk up Dunns Falls....we didnt do it our first few times, but when we did, we met some of the nicest people to walk with and we had a ball...it is not for the weak, you must make some BIG steps up..of course everyone chimes in to help...that is where the fun starts.......
sure its touristy, but thats what we are, right? it is one of Jamaica's well known landmarks, as like Ricks and so on.....
but the tour and ride will shoot one full day

You never see it coming ... and the next thing you know ... UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
bmilo, agree to scratch Dunns. Cindy and I took our girls to Mayfield Falls and what a day it was. If you are looking for a fun challenge, this is the place for you. The guys will guide you up the falls, take pictures and video if you want. Half the way up, we stopped on a huge boulder. Our guide told us that 8 feet down (you can't see it but they say that it is there) there is a hole that has been carved out through the rock over the years from the rushing water. Are you kidding me? All 5 of us found the courage. You dive down and the current pushes you through this hole and after what seems like a lifetime, poops you out downstream. What a rush!
