Is Halloween celebrated in Jamaica?
Sort of. The day afterward is celebrated as All Saints or All Hallows Day.
Halloween is a contraction of All Hallows Eve.

Are there any special traditions? We're going to be there over Halloween and just wondered if Halloween was an American "thing" or if there would be any special traditions that Jamaican families do.
Halloween night, October 2009 at the Grand Pineapple. We were the only fool's in costume that night but lured everyone else, including the bartenders into the fun. What a night!
We reach every Halloween. The CoCoLaPalm started a repeaters Halloween Party 5 years ago and it is a blast! Gets better every year. Last year several places were trying to lure people with a Halloween party, the Canoe Bar being one of them.
Jamaicans themselves do not celebrate Halloween in the manner that it has become in the states. But they will do what de tourists want.
Weathermon, you're killing me. But you're right. I did wear the pimp suit to work just last week. Here they are (minus me) in their real costumes.
Halloween parties are getting more & more common every year in Jamaica...including finding decorations & costumes being sold in the stores.
Watch the board here for upcoming parties & check around town when you arrive...hotel, bars etc will be advertising their parties very shortly.
I know a lady who comes to the Costume party at CO CO every year. She says it is the place to be.
