Just back from 9 nights in Negril, and wanted to mention one of the highlights of my trip, Aunties Thrill Corner (They used to be Cheap Thrill Corner). Not only were they about the friendliest people there, I had what might have been one of the best lobsters of my life at one of their picnic tables...and this is from someone who usually doesn't like spiny lobster and lives in the Northeast where the good bugs are. They keep them in a trap in the ocean right out in front of their shack, so you know they're fresh. They had $200 red stripes and a strong $300 rum punch all day, not just happy hour(s). They are located between the Treehouse Resort and Sun Splash/Normas (another spot I really enjoyed, stopped by there a few times for the 12-2 specials).
I didn't remember reading about them here before I left, and they weren't in my notes...I walked right by them the first couple of days because there's not much there besides a shack and a couple picnic tables and wish I found them sooner. The only reason I stopped in the first place is I was looking to try Lionfish and someone at Sun Splash said they could get it. At Treehouse, the waitress laughed and said no when I asked if they had it or could get it, another bartender somewhere else had the same reaction. I wonder what was so funny? I don't think many locals eat it, none of the people at Aunties had ever tried it!
