Karisma Hotels & Resorts on Dec. 1 will open the all-inclusive Seashore Bay Beach Resort in Negril, its first property outside of Mexico.
The resort had been the Beaches Sandy Bay, operated by Sandals Resort International until Aug. 31.
Karisma, operator of 11 all-inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya under the El Dorado and Azul brands, acquired a majority interest in the 128-room Jamaica resort from owner Poinciana Resorts. Prior to reaching a deal with Karisma, Poinciana had planned to reopen and operate the property as the Sandy Bay Beach Resort on Nov. 1.
The Seashore Bay Beach Resort will now open following a 60-day closure. There will be nine categories of rooms and suites, two pools, four restaurants, a spa and a kids' club.
The resort eventually will undergo a renovation to upgrade it to Karisma's signature Gourmet Inclusive standards, and it will be rebranded as an Azul resort, according to Mandy Chomat of Premier Worldwide Marketing, the sales and marketing representative for Karisma.
