Good to know! I haven't been in there since it was called the Grape Street Pub.
I usually pickup cases of Red Stripe (or Red Stripe Light) at Javie's Beverage across from the Ivy Ridge station. I've also had no problem finding Appleton at the Wine and Spirits on Main Street.
I've heard good things about the Jamaican Jerk Hut on South Street, but haven't gotten there yet. There is a Jamaican restaurant on Rising Sun Ave. in LawnCrest, called the Flavor Spot. It looks authentic and gets good reviews, but again, I have not tried it yet. The neighborhood is not for the faint of heart, but sometimes that's where the best food is.
I sometimes pick up jerk chicken from a Caribbean lunch truck near 30th St. Station called Gigi's. It's good for a quick lunch, but it is a far cry from the real thing. I guess the marinade is not the same and the chicken is cooked in a truck, instead of slow-cooked in a barrel, and that makes all the difference. They don't even have any granny sauce! However, when I have a 1/2 hour lunch break, it's better than a lot of other alternatives in the area.
