Need Help! Is anyone going to Jamaica soon?

We have adopted two dogs from Jamaica and Tammy Browne from the Montego Bay Animal Haven Shelter needs the two crates returned to send another two dogs on planes to their perspective adopted homes. It would be no cost to you. We would cover the fee for the extra baggage. Tammy would simply pick up the crates from the Montego Bay Airport when you land. If you are leaving from the Toronto or London Ontario airports anytime soon we would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you so very much.

Sorry we can't be of help to you, since we are leaving from Montreal and not soon, either (Jan 26). But I am curious how that foreign animal adoption works? What paperwork did you need for CBSA? Were the animals quarantined for any length of time?

    Just wondering.

Those puppies are gonna be some ticked with you come January in Canada! YOu will get the canine version of WTF when you open your front door!

Jamaica is a rabies free country. There is no quarantine for dogs to come to Canada. Tammy Browne from the Montego Bay Animal Haven (montegobayanimalhaven.org) is a wonderful lady who has over 40 dogs at her shelter. They have vets give them the appropriate vaccinations and fill out the paperwork there. Air Canada Cargo will fly dogs from Jamaica to Canada. Once you have picked up your dog then you must take him to your vet to be vaccinated against rabies. If you want to see Happy Girl and Champagne, the two dogs we adopted, you can go to my husband's youtube channel and type urban dog agility.

    Happy Thanksgiving

I think it is so great that animal rescue places in JA are placing pets in homes abroad. And also I am very much in support of the spay and neuter clinics that are helping with the island-wide population problem.

In Jamaica there are three private dog shelters and two branches of the JSPCA. Kim Swaim founded the ISNN Clinics (International Spay/Neuter Network) as a way to help the strays and overpopulation on the Island. She works tirelessly to raise money in the USA so these clinics can happen. We had the privilege of volunteering at the clinic in Negril this past July. It was held in front of the All Ages School on the West End Road. Over 250 dogs and cats were helped over the three days. Here is a link to a video we did at the ISNN Clinic.

Volunteering is a wonderful experience. Every little bit helps a dog in need. www.MontegoBayAnimalHaven.org, www.JSPCA.info, www.spay-neuterjamaica.org

You can follow the progress of Happy Girl (the three legged beach puppy) on FB & Twitter HappyGirlPuppy. She is getting a prosthetic leg soon.

    Happy Day
Happy Girl, Champagne, Brian & Sandra
