How do you respond when someone gives you the "Respect" whether as a greeting or during a conversation, with or without the fist bump?
Is there an appropriate response or for that matter an inappropriate one?

" Yes Man, RESPECT" is my reply. I do not say YA MON. I just sound so fake when I talk like that. But I LOVE to hear Jamaicans say it~~
"I'll love you till the stars fall out of the sky "
:cool
Jim Donna I totally agree I hear people use the ya mon and It really sounds fake. I think just saying respect back is the perfect response.
I usually just bump fist(s) back and say thank you...and sometimes ask them how their day is going.
Personally...I love hearing visitors say "ya mon".
Generally when they're saying "ya mon"...it's in a context of such happiness & excitement...which makes me happy that they're enjoying themselves!![]()
Right on, Bnewb!
It was pointed out to me recently at work that I hardly ever say yes, I say ya mon. I didn't even realize it.
When it comes to respect, if it is sincerely given I return it in kind.
Bless...
