I carried mine on the plane. If you ask the flight attendants they will let you hang it in the First Class closet, no problem

Like Marley, I carried mine onboard with me. I travelled with it in the garment bag that it came with. I had three connecting flights to our destination and the flight crews on all were great about hanging it up for me. Even at the various security checks, when I told them what it was, they handled the dress with extra care. Your fiance should have no problems. Congratulations!
