    Re: Cliff Bars?

Here is a blip on Cliff places to eat and drink once you get off da beach and head up to were you see dem rocks from da beach...

    Starting at the begining of the cliffs down by the other end of da Ricks and working our way up from a likkle past HiLo at Sunshine Plaza;

da Canoe..awesome food and drinks…$200J Red Stripes...Happy Hour from 2-6PM 2 for 1 Rum Punch

German Bar at Mary’s Bay. Easy Rock always has goodies to eat too!

MiYard - Full line of Jamaican food and a case full of all kinds of quick food. Fish, Festival and roasted Breadfuit. Sit at MiYard for an hour and you'll be amazed how may Jamaicans stop by for "fast food" out of the case!

Swordfish – Awesome food and drinks and what a view mon from the second floor……..

Chicken Lavish - Everyting good Mon!

Blue Water Ice Cream - A Treat!

On the Rocks – Great place to chill and have cold Red Stripe……Wednesday Nights it Rocks

Tayon's - Great Jerk Chicken and you can order different size meals…very reasonable

CD Country/Jenny's Cakes - Breakfast is good. Try the "Special Cake"

Blue Horizon West - Great food and great setting at the start of the cliffs.

Brown Sugar - One of our favorites for breakfast!

Spyda’s Bar is across from Blue Cave Castle

    Kool Brown's – Gift Shop

Peewee's – Great for Breakfast. Cold Red Stripe Beers! Great spot to jump in and go snorkeling.

Across from PeeWee's is Ella Lane and T&J's which we call Erica's too - We also just call it Jackie's cause she runs tings. - Up the lane across from PeeWee's about 200 feet. We eat there ALL the time for that real olde world Jamaica feeling and vibes.

Further up this lane is the infamous Bentley Crab Cakes that are to die for!
Mi guess dat Bentley's is da place with one of the biggest servings of food, almost enough for two people, his family has always handed out huge portions, they don't know any other way to do it der.

Beside Kool Browns is No Limit Bar ……..fun place mon..........

Royal Kitchen - Ital and the best!

Choices - Full menu - always good

Xtabi - upscale but always worth the money and sooooo romantic!

Sips and Bites - always great food

3 Dives - Maybe the best Jerk in Negril..best granny sauce.... Lobster good too mmmmmm..

SeaStar Inn - Infamous Sat Nite buffet for $18 with great food, drinks and entertainment plus free pickup and drop off ...or go just for lunch and drinks and a dip in their new pool

Ivans at Catcha Falling Star - most romantic place on the Cliffs.....awesome food and drinks

Farther out up by da Ricks Cafe on da Upper West End Road try out mi favorites like da Rock House, Lighthouse Inn and Serious Chicken.

LTU is old time favorite and it's within crawling distance of Ricks Cafe and der food and drinks are priced right......

we say the Cliffs/West End is da Best End! dat LTU(try Chicken Lolla!) is nice nice and been going there since I discovered it in da late 80's and mi hangout....lol.......
course mi did Ricks in 84..but we all had to do it once right.......lol

Sir D Lookout is the place to be for sunsets and Cocktails.

Jus Natural - Wonderful food......so different from anything else in Negril

to give you an idea of what drinks costs on the average for most "established business's" here is a pretty good gauge though a lot places have happy hours and 2 4 1's and special price on a certain drink or two:

generally the Red Stripes are around $250J's and the local mixed drinks $250J's - $300J’s like coke and Apppleton or Meyers(not considered top shelf in Jamacia at most places as it is produced there)at most any bar in Negril.....
    Red Stripe - $2.50
    Local Mixed Drinks - $2.50
    Guinness - $3.00
    Heineken - $3.00
    Red Stripe Light - $2.75
    Imported Mixed Drinks - $4.75
    Liqueurs - $4.00
    Smirnoff Ice - $3.00
    Red Bull - $3.25

FROZEN COCKTAILS usually run from $3 to $5 at a lot of places, here are some examples and da ingredients for your next cocktail...
    Margaritas - $5
Tequila, triple-sec, fresh squeezed lime and simple sugar. Available in banana, pineapple, papaya or strawberry.
    Miami Voice - $5
½ Pina Colada, ½ strawberry daiquiri, mixed with overproof rum.
    Pina Colada - $4.50
Coconut rum, apricot brandy, fresh cut pineapple, coconut cream, and simple sugar.
    Mudslide - $4.50
Rum cream, Tia Maria, vodka, natural, banana, or strawberry flavored.

mi will update this even more…….

    Cool Runnings, Marko

FIWI on the garden (rather than sea) side is open on the weekends, maybe also during week in high season, is tiny but has a wonderful barkeep whose name now escapes me. Had much fun there one night. I think it's just around the corner from Ciao.

Xtabi has IMO the best dirty banana. Walk from Rockhouse toward town to get there. Bar is on the sea side.

If you're ever in the mood for a daytime beer, take a taxi to The Red Dragon around 12:30 OR 1 and have an ICE cold Red Stripe and some jerk pork.......Great pork, cool atmosphere and good prices. Not on the cliffs, but if you're in a taxi it's up in Red Ground, 3-4 minutes away. Monday afternoon is a good time to go as you might run into some boardies

if we need a cab, are they easy to flag down, or would we need to arrange that ahead of time?
This took me a while to understand. Here goes and vets please weigh in if I'm not quite right.

Red plate route taxis will take you from as far up at the lighthouse down into town at the roundabout for 100J each. You must catch the taxi and be dropped off on the cliff road. Any delivery off the road, say up to Seastar, will need to pay more and that is negotiable. Pickup in the Hi Lo parking lot is not on the route. Pick up on the road on the other side of the shops is on the route.

Since you are at Rockhouse, there will most likely always be a taxi out front.

If you go to the beach you either need to get out at the roundabout and into another taxi for the beach or negotiate with your cliff route cabby to go “off route” to the beach.

There is so much to just walk to right around your resort that you’ll not need a taxi much. At night it would be good to have some driver phone numbers to call for pickup.

This helped me figure out where things are located:
