Good question, I'll see if I can dig up his number for you...
Why thank you Seveen.
LAX is not that bad, 2 hours should be good. I usually arrive around 2-2 1/2 hours early and it allows me time to chill and have a few.
Thanks Master.
A brother has to work now and then. LOL
I so wish Air Jamaica was around. Less than 5 hours where now it is 8 1/2 minimum. Weather wise April is a little cooler with more rain in my experience. It's my favorite time to go. Rates at Eddie's start at $40 with no AC and he said he would add AC if he had enough request but would of course have to charge more.
You can have it, I need AC! Great room none the less.
So after we hit up Eddie's to check out the rooms we headed back to Catcha to get freshened up for dinner as well as the celebration of the expansion of the new bar. I was really looking forward to this as I own real estate on that bar, might be small but I have my own little place.
Dinner was bomb of course and I decided to forgo the tenderloin special in order to get the Jerk Chicken Penne Pasta. OMFG! What have I been waiting for? Those that know me know that I am a finicky eater and that I rarely find a new thing that I like. But I gave it a shot because some friends we made there raved about it. If you have not had the Jerk Chicken Penne Pasta make sure you give it a try.
And don't leave out the pumpkin soup....
I passed on dessert because I had a little company.
And you think Sandie loves her Seafood Linguine?
Alright, time to move to the bar to enjoy the party. Please excuse the clarity of my pics as we obviously screwed up the settings.
Here is a shot that shows the depth of the bar extension looking towards the sea from the bar.
The brains behind the place

Barbara "Tina Turner" doing a great impression. Who would have known?
Ty hamming it up keeping the guest entertained.
Cool night for sure with so much laughter. We had the opportunity to meet some really fun people as well as the author of "Negril Reggae, Riots, & Romance who was a true sweetheart.
Closed the night out with a yummy egg and cheese sandwich from MiYard and hung out on the balcony listening to some tunes. Another great day in paradise......
Friday morning I woke up and I swear the cat crapped in my mouth. Drank WAY TOO MUCH alcohol and did not do a good job of hydrating. So I head over to the bar and bump into my friend Andrea who ate with us the other night at Bentley's. Her hubby ducked out from the meal because he was feeling horrible.
So Dr Grant came over and confirmed that he had Dengue Fever! WTF? How did I miss this? I had no idea you could get this in Jamaica. Now I know and now I will probably get DEET poisoning because I do not want that to happen to me. I had a good 40 bites when I left and so far I'm good to go. And I used a lot of bug stuff and this was the worst I have been bitten. They spent their first week at Tensing Pen and their second week at Catcha. It has an incubation period of around 4 days, so they got it somewhere in Jamaica. I did not ask if they took a road trip, so it is completely possible that he got the bite out of town. And do not freak out, just bring bug spray and USE IT.
Love the foliage that Jackie and team work so hard to upkeep. You can spend a few hours with a beer in hand walking around Catcha checking everything out. Every time I go back it gets more lush. So stay away tropical storms and hurricanes...
Nothing wrong with getting a massage cliff side. This girl did a great job for $1 a minute. If you want her contact info drop me a note. She will bring her table to wherever you are. I have also had a massage from Beverly Haslam and she is great as well.
We decide to head over to Ahhhb's to get the much raved about Ahhhb burger.
He offers up some different choices but we both decide on the Ahhhbe burger. It was grub and had a little bit of a kick to it.
As we were sitting there the One Love bus pulls up with a lively crowd and just about everyone was eyeballing our burgers. One guy decided he just has to have one and kind of holds up the bus. No worries as the crowd was fun, so fun that Sandie and I decided to hop on. Next stop, Sir D's,
This is a great spot to take in the sunset. The deck is a little too crowded for my comfort so we head off with Mike D and his honey over to Sexy Rexy's to see what trouble he was up too. Rexy is in typical mood and entertains us all till the bus makes the approach and we hop back on. Tell Lenbert "Take us to Ivan's man!" He hesitates a little but ends up dropping pretty much the whole gang off at Wise Choice and we walk over to the gates.
"Mr Lewis, I brought so friends to hang out"
"No problem mon"
So we take the crowd down to Ivan's and the place turns festive. A few drinks later most folks leave and now it is just a couple of us.
Sandie is guarding my little piece of real estate at the bar.
I was hungry and decided a walk up to Seastar for some pizza was in order. So we make the stroll and bump into Chris and ask about a hammock. I already have one but want another to string up in my yard. Chris is out as Francine has been a little busy holding it down lately, so now I have my excuse for a return trip, if I really need one anyway.
Eat nearly the whole pizza and head back down to Ahhhb's for some more beers. I'm trying to keep the party down tonight though because we fly out tomorrow and the ride to the airport when you are hung over sucks. Good luck on that one....
Clean bathrooms too
Saturday was go home day, boooooooo! I'll tell you it was not as bad as previously as we are lucky to be back later in the year. Checked in with Mauvette to finalize the tab and realized that my bar tab was a little more than my room tab.And we had bought our own on several occasions across the street at Wise Choice. Time to go home and dry out after a laborious week of drinking in Negril.
Time to post some randoms with some commentary.
Here is our painting we picked up from Ras Husmo on Friday. I wanted something with color and this one popped so we picked it up. He also surprised Sandie with a special gift that damn near brought a tear to my eye.
Mother & Daughter
Sandie was taken aback a little and it was cool to see the respect that the two had for each other. Like I said earlier, I cannot freaking wait till she gets on her painting of Ras.
Sweetheart server at Ivan's named Tamika. A closer look reveals no ring on that finger guys.....
It's all good at Ivan's, just order whatever you think might be good and it will be good.
Another shot of the bar with the extension and 4 wonderful ladies. Barbara is holding court, Sweetness and Sandie are deep in conversation, and Keneisha is telling me how many credits I have left.
That's it folks.......................
Thanks for taking the time to follow along. And please if you are wondering if you should share your trip, please do so. I love reading every trip report, even the ones mostly written in patois..........

Thanks Booger!! I'm afraid to even attempt a trip report, nothing we do will ever be as entertaining as all of you! Big shoes to fill![]()
The picture of Sandie & the linguinie - she's got a beer AND a frozen cocktail? My kinda girl
LMAO....The one I learned from +1 is..."Did it snow last night? Because I need to track down that bear that $hit in my mouth"
And tooo funny about Dengue fever! There was an article on the Observer lately about it, and I thought the same thing....WTF? I had no idea you could get Degue fever in JA. Our friendly neighborhood doc and I were joking about a totally random Dengue fever diagnosis he had about a year ago. Well, if i get it, i know who can diagnose me, LOL! Stupid mosquitos. What are they good for? Dengue, lime disease, malaria....
Great Report once again! Thanks!
