Hello boardies, I have about 50 lbs of stuff I need to ship to Negril. Anyone done this before? West jet does not allow overweight to Jamaica and UPS is too expensive. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

we are in peterborough, just shipped a 30 lbs. box to ja, took almost a month, with us sending it thru canada post, we could have had it shipped by boat but would have taken 2 months, soon come
If you search online there are companys that ship out of Miami to Jamaica, most I have heard use those plastic barrels.
Trip #59 most of February
by the way, it cost us $ 80.00 , soon come
I have shipped barrels to Jamaica from Toronto. Its very reasonale. I paid $45 ..regardless of the weight. Its not shipped by weiht but by cubic ft ..So as long as the top will fir on securely, yu can stuff it . From Ottawa, I suggest you look for a grocery store that sells West Indian Food in Ottawa and ask anyone in the store. Thye will prolly have the info sice Caribbean ppl buy the barrels from the West Indian stores. Also ask any West Indian person you meet, . Dont forget the haitians too. The company I used in Toronto is called Sea Jamaica Shipping. I am almost sure you will have shipping companies there in Otawa. You may even call Sea Jamaica Shipping and the may have an office there in Ottawa.
