Last trip report comeing today or tommorow, guess you are tired of old Baloo by now. I know it is unconventional to put 3 years of trip reports on one post but we have enjoyed doing it.Iwas originally inspired by the " Dead Yard" but writeing these reports has taken on a life of its own, just wanted to have fun, it has all been very cathartic ,thanks for your kind replys.
    Best Wishes.

Ere we go. Trip started sort of strange.Booked transfer with Turners Exquisite Tours. 36 hours before leaving got e.mail which at first apperance seemed to be sent by Carlton saying he was in Scotland, stranded after ticket and money stolen.Wanted us to transfer money for ticket and said that he would refund us when he got home we had to phone him at blue bay hotel (special number). Smelt a rat, after some research sussed out the scam, it was a computer virus which attached itself to anyone in the email address book and had been going all round Europe for 2 years. Somebody had hacked into his e.mail. Carlton is innocent and a good man, when we explained situation to him he was in the process of rectifying the situation, hope he has not lost too much buisness.
Made a couple of stops so did not arrive to Catcha Gardens till 9PM. Jane was very welcoming and we got Bella Villa, real nice, could happily live there. Met Marshall, well, what can i say about Marshall? Went to LTU for Chicken Lola, not bad, bit dry.No bugger about, dead apart from staff and a very helpfull barman.
Wife went to bed, I must of sat on that veranda till 3am, too exited, in my element.
Next day went to LTU for breakfast, shambolic. Ordered Jamaican breakfast, completely threw them, Ackee outa season? They had to get some, too much hassle, ordered American instead just under 2 hours got it. No worrey, lovely view. Waiter was a mighty pain, do you want this or that, no thanks but the man would not give up. Went in a couple days later, he is so exited,"baloo, I have made you a special cake" but me no want special cake, too unpredictable. Mainly went in the evenings, good mix of people.
Loved walking Cliff road, easy vibe.Took early morning walk to Out Of Town Bakery, just really happy. Randem chats with locals who had no agenda at all, just happy to talk to a couple of ugly old Brits.
Hanged a lot by the pool at The Gardens, great conversations, you could happily not leave at all. But forward we must go,spent a bit of time at the Rockhouse, another friendly lovely place, also checked the Canoe bar for breakfast, very quiet.
On the advice of a nice American Couple who had been staying at catcha for a while we went to The Caves on Saturday for some Jerk. On the walk up we encountered poor old gent in a wheelchair, may have been legless i.e no legs. I gave him all my change and being a soft touch started pushing him up the hill on his request. My wife turned round and found this hilarious, then he want money for clothes. I say there is only one problem, my wife has the money and she is a Hard Ass (travelling around India for a long time can do this to you) as for me i would have given him more js but she would have killed me.
The Jerk at the Caves did not fill us up so after watching another beautiful sunset, we hot footed it down to the Seastar for the much acclaimed buffet. Much respect to Chris for all his hard work but to us Brits it was like Butlins, sorry Rob.
Wish we had more time on the cliffs (sorely fancy a cheap out of season stay up there, just eatimg from Jerk Stands and cookshops) but Mrs Baloo has other ideas, If I was on my own I could be trouble LOL!
Gotta chill now, pics and beach report may come tomorrow.
"Like a walking razor you better watch your step,i am dangerous" more like Dangermouse!

    Re: Enjoyed Negril

So we transferd fom Catcha Gardens to the Sea Wind resort with some trepidation. Enjoyed the Cliffs so much we did nit want to leave.
One of oiur issues was that we had to share our upstairs balcony. Did not wish to offend anyone because of my fondness of smokeing.
As it turned out everything was fine.We where shareing with a couple of really nice Frensh guys who lived in Kingston. They where involved in te music buisness and claimed to live in Orange Street. In fact we met a few peole who lived in Jamaica and where at The Sea Wind for a bit of R and
R, It was a small and friendly resort and we realy enjoyed it.The food was good and the weekly buffet was exceptional,
Sand gravity took over and we spent most of our time om the beach, on our balcony and generally chatting to people.
I do not think we will visit Negril again unless it was in the context of travelling the Island,We had such s good time we cannot feel we can top that.
So many other places and cultures to experiance.
I have really enjoyed writeing this report and hope we have not bored you.
    More pictues to follow.
    Best Wishes,
    Baloo.
