Thank you so much for your replies!!!! You guys are so AWESOME!:-)
Haha! Sure, you can join us for dinner, but just not THAT night! LOL!
Hi Tizzy, I am looking for a romantic, private kinda vibe with great food, and an awesome view (I know I am asking for a lot, eh?) Moneywise, I'm okay with going all out if it's a really special place. He is so good to me, and deserves way more than just a special dinner out. :-)
Hi Cherry,
Yep! We will be at the Rockhouse, but I should have mentioned in my original post not to include the Rockhouse in the romantic dinner suggestions. I know for a fact that he already booked dinner at that special Rock table, because he already told me all about it, LOL! He can't keep surprises that well, and I am totally shocked he was even able to surprise me with this trip.
Yeah, I think I'll keep him.:-) LOL! I've honestly never ever met a guy like him before. He always goes out of his way to do such nice things for me all the time. I really want to do something really special for him. We haven't even been dating all that long, so believe me, I was totally shocked to get this trip for my birthday present!
G, Thanks so much for all those links! So many good ideas, that's awesome! I so appreciate you posting them. I am going to start reading them later after I study for my Micro exam, yikes! Thanks again, G!
Oh, I didn't realize they wouldn't serve wine or champagne there! I guess I can try to hide some bottles in my luggage. A couple of months ago, he took me to South Beach, and he was watching me pack to see what kind of clothes I was bringing, LOL, so I'm kinda worried he might find the bottles! LOL!
Wow, Dash! You sound like you have that romance thing down! A couples massage sounds incredible, and I know he would really love that. We will definitely be at Seastar Inn on at least one of the Sat. nights for the show. I've watched the webcast and I can't wait!
O M G!!!! Now, that is incredible! Do they really serve dinner there? Where is this place located??

That hammock hut is located on the cliffs at Tensing Pen. They do not normally set a table there but for special things like birthdays and weddings they will. They have done it for my birthday!!

I will second the vote for The Lodge at Tensing Pen. I have been there when they have taken the hammocks down and set up a romantic dinner table in he hammock hut and it looks amazing. (why i haven't done it myself yet, not sure)
Even dining in The Lodge is very romantic and the food is delicious.

If you really want to go all out, see if you can book a cave dinner at The Caves. They will do it for non-guests if available, would be a few hundred $ probably.
Wow, that hut at Tensing Pen looks amazing!!!
Baylee here are some pictures I dug up online of the Cave dinner at the Caves Resort.....I have been fascinated with this since I first heard about it. It would be a splurge but I dont know how much more private and unique you can get. Someone on this board recently posted that certain times of year, the smaller cave can be a bit muggy....but there is one that is larger and more open to sea breeze, if you are interested.
Whatever you decide, I have no doubt it will be so special and mean so much to him. Happy for you

The Tensing Pen hammock hut looks incredible! Do you think they would set something like that up for non guests because we are staying at a different hotel?
I am so intrigued by this cave dining experience!!

Tizzy, Thank you SO much! That was so sweet of you to post those pics. I have to say dining in a cave by candlelight really sounds like the romantic spot. I wonder how the food is there, and if they serve wine or champagne? Also, would you happen to know how far away it is from the Rockhouse?
The Caves will hook you up Baylee but it will cost. They are first class five star, no joke. It's where the rich and famous stay when in Negril. It's a short cab ride from Rockhouse, maybe a mile walk? Food will be VERY good, they will probably have a decent wine list. You can get good wine in Negril at the better restaurants but it will be pricey and the selection will USUALLY be limited. Tropic heat and wine are not simpatico. It requires special care and dedication to keep well and is not in huge demand from the typical Negril visitor I have found. Having said that we had good bottles of wine at Rockhouse and Catcha but nothing spectacular.
check out this link for a good map of the area around Rockhouse and the road to The Caves. - http://wikimapia.org/#lat=18.2655884...2&z=18&l=0&m=b
What's so funny 'bout Peace, Love and Understanding?
If you were to exit Rockhouse you would go to the Right (south I guess)....maybe a couple miles, I cant say for sure. The caves is just past Sir D's and before the lighthouse. Tensing Pen is located closer to you but between Rockhouse and The Caves. Does that make sense? LOL
I found a fantastic map that I saved to my computer. I'm going to try and find you a link to it....it has been invaluable to me.
FOUND IT!

We stayed at The Caves twice, most recently 1/11. Both times we passed on the cave dinner, we checked it out and it was just too damp and humid for us, it was much more pleasant sitting outside with a nice breeze in the normal dining spots. They do have a nice private table for two in it's own little alcove looking out to the sea, but I don't think non-guests can book that.
If you're interested, email the hotel or call the toll free number, I'm sure they can give you the details, but I think it was $300 or more, probably not including wine.
If you want to check out the place, The Sands bar is open to the public on Wed and Sat afternoons I believe. They have some jerk you can purchase and there were local cliff divers there. Much better than going to Rick's. There's a 30' jump there that's real safe, many guests and visitors were doing it. Not me, I'm a chicken.
